Merrit Beason, 2021, OH, Alabama Performance 18 Red, Florida
With their team finishing a strong 14-1, Merrit was a shining light on the team which finished with the President’s Weekend total. A heavy hitter, Merrit has a quick swing and follow-through, with the ability to thread hits down the line or consistently tool the block.
Gaby Croll, 2020, 6’1, OH/RS, Waubonsee Valley, Sports Performance Elite 18, Elon
Although they didn’t win the tournament, Sports Performance Elite 18s took on the best and played well through the match. Gaby’s play was no exception. Watching her many times throughout high school and club season, her talent keeps on getting better and better. She is a quintessential “go-to” player in a meaningful point getting situations.
Ella Wrobel 2022, 6’4, OH/RS, Plainfield North, Sports Performance Elite 18, Uncommitted
The youngest on this team, Ella is starting to play like a veteran. She puts up some impressive numbers and a massive block as well. Look for her to come into her own, next season.
Gwen Wolkow 2022, 6’4, OH, Plainfield North, Sports Performance Elite 16, Uncommitted
This powerhouse 16s team made it to the final four and finished in third at the event, thanks to Gwen’s play. She led her Downer’s Grove North team in the fall with over 400 kills and continues her attack count here for SPRI.
Zayna Meyer 2021, 6’2, S, Wheaton Warrenville South Sports Performance Elite 16, BYU
Zayna brings solid leadership and experience to this team, having set for the State Title runner-ups in Wheaton Warrenville South in 2019.I’ts not every day you have a tall setter leading the offense. Her ability creates problems for the other team. This 16s team is not an ordinary 16s team.
Anna Jaworski, 2021, 5’7, S, Naperville North, Sports Performance Elite 17, Uncommitted
She’s a high energy hustler in every sense. Anna Moves quickly and makes the unexpected sets look easy. With the ability to find the hot hand, she executes the play with precision.
Emily Surin, 2021, 5’11, MH, Joliet Catholic (JCA), Sports Performance 17 Elite, Uncommitted
A solid blocker, Emily was part of a State final JCA team in 2019. She is a player with an incredible upside of talent in the middle. Look for her to make an impact as the season goes on.
