Here are four 2021s that are currently unranked in the Prep Dig prospect list for this class but are likely to land among the next rankings release coming up in the next few weeks.
Phoebe Glenn – S | Synergy 17-1
A primary setter for this Synergy squad, Glenn has nice touch on the ball, which is created by good footwork to get herself in position to distribute with consistency in balance and body position. She prepares her hands well and can locate a variety of options and tempos through both pins. She is simple in her decision-making to make the right play with confidence in all of her hitters to take a good swing from anywhere on the floor. She is a key element to the firepower this team can generate with their collection of attackers.
Isabelle Mrozek – 6’0 | MB | KEVC 17-1
A product of Rocori High School, Mrozek is strong and continues to develop her attacking presence that involves the ability to transition and approach in front and behind the setter. She has good presence at the net and seems most effective when she has more time to get on top of the ball with a high elbow. As she increases her experience with more moderate to quicker tempo options she has potential to be even more dangerous with the power she can put behind the ball, which will apply more pressure on the defense to find her faster.
Carissa Richie – 6’0 | MB/RS | M1 17-1
Richie is definitely worth a good look as she is emerging as a key offensive and defensive element to this team’s effort. She works hard in transition to get herself available for quick options in the middle. She shows good spacing and timing to get up and open to the setter in order to use torque to hit with power and range. She also shows good vision in the air to swing through gaps to get the ball to the floor. On the defensive side she has good blocking instincts and can make a quick and dynamic swing move to close down the pins and fill up good space.
Hanna Thompson – 5’11 | MB/RS | M1 17-1
Thompson has a deceptively fast arm as she is methodical in her approach work that includes a big double-arm lift into a bow and arrow that creates good torque. She swings with good pace and range at the top of her jump that is difficult to defend, especially if she beats the block. She is athletic in her movement patterns and can score effectively in front of the setter as well as through a mid-tempo slide attack. She has an experienced setter leading her and she shows a good relationship with her timing and in developing good space to take big swings.
