They look for something specific that will fit their personnel and their system. I love “What If” scenarios and in this case, What if Wisconsin had an All-Star team for this 2020 club season. Who would be on it? What would be the best combination? Here are some of the top athletes in Wisconsin and the ones who have been having a great year in 2020. What would the “Wisconsin All Star Team” look like against other states? Maybe some foreshadowing….we’ll see.
As for this team, I’m going with an all-around look where players can play multiple positions along with many athletes who are six rotation players.
Aubrey Hamilton Aubrey Hamilton 6'0" | OH Arrowhead | 2020 State WI – Sting 18 Gold
Wucherer and HamiltonClass of 2020 – OH
Committed to Notre Dame
The top player out of the Class of 2020 from Wisconsin and the Gatorade State Player of the Year. Hamilton is the top point scorer with her ability to see the open court and put the ball away from the front or back court. Her physicality at the pin is really tough to stop as she can really attack from multiple angles and hits such a heavy ball. She will head to Notre Dame who is building a solid recruiting class with some top players out of the Midwest.
Mckenna Wucherer Mckenna Wucherer 6'1" | OH Brookfield Central | 2022 State #1 Nation WI – Sting 18 Gold
Class of 2022 – OH
Committed to Minnesota
Wucherer has been on the radar since she was an 8th grader, committing to Minnesota and making a splash on the national scene at the HP Championships last year. At 6’2, a big leaper and a physical point scorer, Wucherer has made the jump to the 18s level this year and her game has evolved going against the nation’s elite (she was a 16s All American in 2019). The Class of 2022 recruiting class at Minnesota is really building with commits from Colorado Juniors middle blocker Carter Booth at 6’7 and another pin from Northern Lights in Julia Hanson.

Emily Bannit – Kokoro 18-1
Class of 2020 – OH
Committed to Loyola – Chicago
One of the top all around athletes in the state, Banitt does some special things from the pin as well as in the backrow. She plays with a high contact point and can really put a hammer on the ball. She is the type who could swing out of any position in the front row, but is also one who can score points out of the backrow. She’s been a state track athlete in her career at River Falls High School and her athleticism will be a welcome addition to Loyola who is on the rise in the Missouri Valley.
KJ McNabb KJ McNabb 5'9" | OH Sun Prairie | 2020 State WI – Capital 18 Adidas
Class of 2020 – OH/DS
Committed to Loyola – Chicago
McNabb is the spark that every team needs. She plays with a ton of energy and has been one of the top point scorers out of the Madison area, but I believe is the top middle back defender in the state. McNabb and Banitt will make quite the duo at Loyola where they have similar styles, but McNabb is one who could be a major boost and point scorer from the backrow. She has an aggressive style and will always be one to bring a spark no matter where she is needed to contribute.
Brooke Mosher Brooke Mosher 5'11" | S Waterloo | 2021 State WI – FC Elite 18 Elite
Class of 2021 – S
Committed to Illinois
Mosher just continues to get better and better each time she steps on the court. She is so dynamic as a setter and sees both sides of the court so well. Whether it’s finding the matchup for her own side of the net or attacking the open spot on the other side, she just has such a great feel for the game. For FC Elite 18 Elite she has been able to attack as well where she puts a hammer on the ball from either pin.
The roof is on 🔥🔥🔥 Karina Leber Karina Leber 6'3" | MB Wilmot Union | 2020 State WI is @WiJrs pic.twitter.com/aTSq8uZyaL

Karina Leber Karina Leber 6'3" | MB Wilmot Union | 2020 State WI – Wisconsin Juniors 18-1
Class of 2020 – MB
Committed to Colorado State
I really like how Leber can attack off one foot and can really close the block going from pin to pin. She’s been a key part of the success for Wisconsin Juniors the past few years and will take her game to Colorado State who has been a strong Top 25 program who always packs their arena full of fans. Her physicality will translate well to the next level with her ability to defend and score points.
Reinhardt #5Kiara Reinhardt Kiara Reinhardt 6'3" | MB Cedarburg | 2020 State WI – Sting 18 Gold
Class of 2020 – MB
Committed to Creighton
Always consistent. Reinhardt has been a go-to for Sting Gold her whole career and has evolved her game over time, and will take it to Creighton which is always one of the tops in the Big East as well as a top twenty five program. Reinhardt is smart, she anticipates well, she can read the other side of the net from setter tendencies to what attackers to be aware of, a consistent force that her teammates can depend on.
[player_tooltip player_id="56002" first="Tayler" last="Alden"]Tayler Alden Tayler Alden 6'0" | S Oconomowoc | 2020 State WI – VC United 181
Class of 2020 – S/RS
Committed to Northern Iowa
Cold blooded. Tayler Alden Tayler Alden 6'0" | S Oconomowoc | 2020 State WI has take over a match in plenty of ways. When she is in the front row and setting, Alden puts so much pressure on the other side of the net with her ability to swing and attack. She will head to Northern Iowa which consistently is producing All MVC and All American type setters. If she doesn’t set, she could also be a right side attacker with her physicality on the pin to attack and also put up a block as well.
Elise Goetzinger Elise Goetzinger 6'4" | MB Mount Horeb | 2020 State WI running the slide 🤩🤩🤩 @stingvb1988 wins in three over Apex @MilSting18Gold pic.twitter.com/it2xhKefxF

Elise Goetzinger Elise Goetzinger 6'4" | MB Mount Horeb | 2020 State WI – Sting 18 Gold
Class of 2020 – MB
Committed to Kentucky
Watching Elise Goetzinger Elise Goetzinger 6'4" | MB Mount Horeb | 2020 State WI run a slide will never get old. Her speed, power, and style is so fun to watch and her smile and energy is contagious to those on the court and those around her. She has always brought a flare to the game, always has a smile, and seems to always pick up her teammates. She’s always had a the size and athleticism, but now she is well trained and is going to continue to improve at Kentucky where the Wildcats is building quite the pipeline to some of the top players out of the Midwest.
Erin Powers Erin Powers 5'8" | DS/L Mukwonago | 2020 State WI – Sting 18 Gold
Class of 2020 – L
Committed to UAB
Just steady. Powers is so quietly effective with how she is so smooth with how she moves, a really controlled platform, and is just so cool, calm, and collected. She can serve receive, get the first contact to her setter, and has an extremely high IQ. She will head to UAB where she is one who could also see time in the sand. She can swing on the pin as well, but her forte is definitely as a libero.
