Continue ReadingEvery club season several players are required to play up a year because of their birthdate. Other players play up because of the needs of a team or other circumstances. Playing with older players can at first seem daunting but can ultimately lead to great benefits for those players. Below, see some of the players that are succeeding at playing at a higher level in the metro Omaha area.
Lily Vaughn – Setter – 2022 – Nebraska Elite 172
Lily is a sophomore at Fremont High School. Lily is used to playing with upperclassmen as she played varsity this past year for Fremont. Lily brings a lot of energy and passion to her teams.
Mia Broadstone – RS – 2022 – Nebraska Elite 172
Mia is a sophomore at Skutt High School. Mia plays right side for her club team but has also played outside. She has an aggressive swing that makes her hard to dig. She is a great teammate and works hard on every point.
Reese Booth – DS/Setter – 2024 – Premier 15 Gold
Reese is just an 8th grader at Valley View Middle School but is playing with a team full of freshman this club season. She does not allow her youth to keep her from being a leader on the team. She is a hard worker and expects the same from her teammates.
Emmalee Sheppard Emmalee Sheppard 5'4" | DS/L Fremont | 2023 State NE – DS – 2023 – Nebraska Elite 172
Emmalee is actually playing up two years. She is just a freshman at Fremont High School but she is playing with mostly juniors this club season. Emmalee plays as a defensive specialist for her club and high school team. She thrives in this position and is continuously working to improve her game.
