Sky Moffitt Sky Moffitt 6'2" | MB Lafayette Jefferson | 2022 State IN , 6-1, MB, Circle City 16 Purple (16-1), Lafayette Jefferson High School
Even though she’s from what’s not normally a high school volleyball power in the state of Indiana, Sky has managed to burst on the scene for arguably the best 16s team in the state of Indiana. Her attack touch (9-7) and block touch (9-2) are increasing by the month, and is an absolute gym rat. We like her ability to hit any set in transition, as well as her natural quickness. She also takes up enormous space on the block, and is a fiery competitor.
Ella Peter Ella Peter 6'0" | MB Noblesville | 2022 State IN , 6-0, MB/RS, Circle City Purple (16-1), Noblesville High School
Ella has been starting on the varsity at Noblesville since her freshman year, and has grown tremendously from her one-shot array as a middle to playing multiple positions for club coach and club director, Scott McQueen. She gets overlooked, and I’m not sure why. She’s not flashy, and gets everything done that she’s asked to do. Steady play and consistency is what keeps this kid on this list.
Lovie Wallace Lovie Wallace 6'0" | MB Hamilton Southeastern | 2022 State IN , 6-0, MB, Munciana 16 Ninjas (16-1), Heritage Christian School
I LOVE this kid. (OK, that was bad. Sorry.) In a little less than 18 months, she has grown from only hitting high balls in the middle to running every set thrown at her, both behind and in front of the setter. She’s also been trained by the best at Munciana, and is only getting better. Her attack touch is also rapidly approaching ten feet. It’ll be scary to find out how good she can be—she’s only scratched the surface of her potential. Oh, and did I mention she got the nod for All-American at AAUs in 15 Open last year?
Sarah Bennett Sarah Bennett 6'0" | MB Columbus North | 2022 State IN , 6-0, MB, Circle City 16 Black (16-2), Columbus North High School
A sweetheart of a kid and a tireless worker, Sarah will be a nice addition for any program looking for a no-nonsense player who is a volley dork, through and through. Most of her work is done on the block, where her broad shoulders and lateral movement help her cover any tempo and any distance. Because of the lack of training and volleyball talent at Columbus North, she almost has to play catch-up every club season. That hasn’t changed her outlook, however, as I’ve watched her get steadily better over the past year and a half.
Kimora Whetstone Kimora Whetstone 5'9" | MB Lawrence North | 2022 State IN , 5-9, MB/OH, Munciana 16 Ninjas (16-1), Lawrence North High School
On this list, Kimora is an outlier. She’s not big, she doesn’t have the standard middle footwork. Heck, she doesn’t even LOOK like a middle. But she does all of the things a good middle should do; fast transition, high attack point, hits in front of and behind the setter, lateral quickness and high block touch are just small parts of the picture. I project her to be a D2/D3 middle, yet she needs to be mentioned here because of (1) her pure athleticism, and (2) the fact that she’s on the best 16s club team in Indiana not named Circle City.
