Freshmen are bigger and better than ever this year in Texas! With the competition heating up in the class of 2023, here are a few girls who are rising stars on their HS and club teams that college coaches should keep tabs on as they grow in their volleyball experience.

Nayeli GonzalezNayeliGonzalez6'2" | MBCornerstone Christian | 2023StateTX - Cornerstone Christian HS

The 6’2” freshman MB is something special out of the San Antonio area. Nayeli has strong hands on the block and closes very well on the pins. Off of transition and serve receive, she excels at hitting on the pins in addition to her fast tempo middle offense. Her ability to see the block and hit around the defense is beyond her years.

Krista DooleyKristaDooley6'3" | OHPlano East | 2023StateTX - Plano East HS

At OH, Krista has coordination that allows her to see the court well. Her height at 6’3” gives her the ability to hit around blocks and hit off-speed shots around defenses. Off of transition, she can hit well across the front line. On her approach, she can touch 10’ which gives her an advantage on the pins at such a young age.
