The Huron Valley Volleyball Club at 815 Woodland Dr. in Saline demands a lot from its athletes and the higher the level of competition the greater those requirements become.
For example, at Huronvalleyvb.sportsengine-prelive.com/home under the heading HVVC National Team Expectations, the programs highest level of play, it states, “National players are expected to attend a minimum of 85 percent of practices and not miss consecutive practices”.
Also mentioned are the ideas that, “National players may not miss any event or practice for another club sport”, and, “National players may be asked to miss non-academic school events for priority events, specified prior to team selection”.
These are the facts for every National Team at HVVC from 12 Blue to 17 Blue and every age in between. Within that mix are two 16U squads that were really looking forward to this season and all they were set to accomplish, and rightly so. Any group of talent that trains to not just participate, but instead succeed during even the most dire of circumstances isn’t going anywhere if it doesn’t believe in itself.
Among the individuals that were going to help turn that dream into a reality for HVVC in 16U action includes…
NORA HALLORAN
Sporting a deceptive arc she employs that makes it appear as though the ball is descending at a greater rate than it actually is, Halloran is a five-foot-nine sophomore at Skyline High School in Ann Arbor. In her game tape on Maxpreps.com she shows offensive skills that can place the ball deep in opposing territory just as easily as take a friendly bounce off a defenders arm or hands. In club play she suits up for the Huron Valley Volleyball Club 16 Blue as a Middle Hitter/Middle Blocker.
MEGAN GUERARD
In her role as an Outside Hitter at Saline High School in 2018-19 for the freshman squad this member of the class of 2022 wore number 10. That’s the same number she’s presently adorned with at the Huron Valley Volleyball Club 16 White.
JULIA SESI
This member of the class of 2022 wears numbers seven for the Huron Valley Volleyball Club 16 White in Saline and Saline High School. In 2018-19 she competed for the Hornets freshman team as a Middle Blocker.
ALAYNA SUTHERLAND
Despite donning number 12 for the Huron Valley Volleyball Club 16 White, in prep competition with Saline High School she wore number 14. In 2018-19 Sutherland played freshman ball for the Hornets as a Middle Blocker.
HVVC 16 BLUE
Also lining up at Middle Blocker for The Huron Valley Volleyball Club 16 Blue according to Huronvalleyvb.com is Beth Ann Ford, manning the Right Side are Julia Munday and Maanya Tarnal and the Outside Hitters include Lana Kouatli, Makenzie Roehner and Jamie Giese. Helping round out the roster are Setter Ellie McGlashen and Defensive Specialists Megan O’Neil, Rachel Hein and Avery Goodrich
The rest of the roster for HVVC 16 White consists of athletes such as Keira Gotcher, Isabelle Winek, Maya Dickhudt, Amber Yu, Aleah Benson, Peyton Feeney and Paige Sayler.
