I have worked out every day during this quarantine. I have gone on runs, weight lifted, biked, and have done some plyo work. I have also done some footwork drills and have peppered with my sisters.
Volleyball learning curve through your high school career
My Freshman year, I sat out the entire volleyball and basketball seasons with a foot injury. It taught me a lot about myself and the sport of volleyball. I learned that every day is not always given to you and to leave everything out on the court because it could be your last. I have always been a middle but, I am open to playing any position I am asked to play.

Stay Resilient
Last year this was a word that we used a lot and I feel that it fits our team perfectly.

Downtime essentials
During this downtime, I have been working out and doing all I can to just keep my hands on a volleyball. I have also just taken some time to learn more about the mental part of the game while I’m not able to practice or play with my team. I know we are capable of a lot of success this next season, and I want to do everything I can during this time to put ourselves right where we want to be next fall: in that state championship.
Top Mentors in Volleyball
My high school and club coaches have all been so great. I have learned so much from all of them, and all their coaching has really impacted my game. My High school coach, Christina Boesiger, especially because I have been on her team for a very long time. Before she was my high school coach, she was my club coach for many years. Her daughter and I, and now my high school setter, Maisie, have played volleyball together since we were little. Christina is a great coach and has had such a positive influence on me as a person and as a player. She always encourages me and pushes me at the same time. Another mentor of mine from high school would be my assistant coach, Gina Chambers. She is always one to push me to be the best I can be, and I have loved having her as my coach.

We will be deciding this as a team come this summer. Last year our slogan was “play hard. Love each other. Do what we do.”
We want to carry this same theme into our season no matter what we decide on for this next season because it defines our Norris volleyball team. We are all so close and together we can accomplish anything. We feel like this is our year, and we talked last year in the locker room after losing in the state semifinals that we would be playing in the state championship on Saturday next year. We feel like we have unfinished business, and this group is so special that we know we can get it done.

Downtime essentials
I have been working out to stay in shape while still getting reps and touches on the ball at home as well. I have taken this time to focus on my school work and my recruiting process.
Top Mentors in Volleyball
My sister and my parents have inspired me to pursue a future in sports. Their support is uncanny. My biggest mentors in volleyball would be Coach Dean Farley and Coach Emily Restau. Dean invested in me when I first started at Juniors and really believed in me as a player and person and I will forever be grateful for that. Coach Restau has only been my coach for a year but has put so much effort and time into me. Whatever it is that I wish to accomplish I know she will be by my side supporting and believing in me the whole way because that’s just the type of coach she is. She has also taught me that every volleyball player needs to tuck in their jersey.

Top Mentors in Volleyball
My coaches Mader, Neujahr, Maggie are really big mentors that have really helped me through my process with recruiting and through all the frustrations with switching positions from middle to outside.

Chop wood, carry water
Chop wood, carry water was a book that we read during high school season about a man who wanted to be a samurai archer. His trainer made him chop wood and carry water for weeks and the samurai in training became very frustrated because he didn’t understand why he had to do stupid things that didn’t even go with shooting a bow. The whole point of this book was to fall in love with the process of being great he had to chop wood and carry water doing the little things that nobody wanted to do to be able to do the big things that everyone wanted to be good at.
