Hannah is a strong leader and a great communicator on the court. She does well running a quick offense and getting her attackers 1-on-1…Coach Makayla Westphal
What are you looking to study in college? I’m looking to major in civil or chemical engineering. I’m open to new locations as I’d love to explore new states and their cities
How will you know when you’ve found the perfect school for you? I will know when I have found the “right fit” when it feels right with my future teammates and coaches.
What are you looking for in a college volleyball program? I would like a volleyball program that feels like home. I would like to be pushed out of my comfort zone both on and off the volleyball court.
Do you have any favorites, or front runners? I have a few schools in mind and a few schools I am in contact with, but I am still very open to recruitment. I was sad to see Covid-19 come around at a crucial part during mine and other junior’s recruitment.
Hannah had 4.8 assists per set her junior year at Pius who made a run for the state championship. You can see her highlights here:

Annalee Ventling-Brown | Lincoln East | 6’1″ Middle | VCN 17 Elite
Annalee’s club coach, Makayla Westphal has this to say about Annalee: Annalee has a tremendous amount of ability on the volleyball court. She touches higher than the majority of her opponents and works hard to close pin to pin. Her strongest attack is a push-A in the middle or a B. I’m excited to see her develop her slide attack.
What are you looking for in a college? In a school it is important for me that it has the major I am looking for with class sizes that aren’t very big. It is also important to me that it has a good volleyball program and coach.
How will you know when you’ve found the perfect place for you? I will know when I find the right fit when I feel comfortable with the players and coach.
As far as the volleyball program, what are your most important aspects you are looking for? In a volleyball program I am looking for a motivational coach , positive environment, and organized training.
Where are you in the recruiting process? I am currently speaking with 4 different college coaches and I have been able to go on one visit before the restrictions took place.
Annalee added 1.4 kills per set, and 74 blocks for her Lincoln East team during 2019 season. You can watch Annalee here: Annalee’s highlights
Kalli Kroeker | Norris High School | 5’11″ MH | VCN 17 Elite
Kallie is one of the most athletic girls I’ve coached. She is capable of playing six rotations and has tremendous ball control. She runs a quick slide and does well closing the block pin to pin says her club coach, Makayla Westphal.
What are you looking for in a college at the academic level? I would be most interested in a college located in the Midwest or very close to it. I am also thinking at the moment to major in elementary education. Overall, I’m just wanting to find a school that I feel is the right fit for me.
How will you know when you’ve found that fit? I feel like I’ll know it’s the right fit when it’s the right combination of coaches, teammates, and the environment of the campus feels good to me. I feel like there will be this peace that comes over me when the right school comes along.
Now, let’s look at the volleyball aspect. What are you looking as most important: I am looking for a program that has a high level of volleyball that I contribute to. I like a fast level of play and feel like that’s where I want to be. Another important thing to me is that it is a great group of girls and coaches, with a positive, fun environment!
Where are you in the recruiting process? I have made a couple of visits, but as of now, it is wide open for me. I am looking forward to when I can go visit campuses and see people face to face again. I know there’s a school out there for me, and I am very excited to find it!
Kalli put up some impressive stats for Norris her junior season. 251 Kills (2.6 per set), 37 aces, 75 blocks and 214 digs. You can watch Kalli here:
Kalli’s Hudl Highlights
Lauren is probably our most versatile player on the team. She is capable of playing middle, opposite, or right side all the way around. Lauren makes a great block move and does a nice job lining up with the attacker and the timing of the block… Coach Westphhal
What size and where are you interested in attending college? When looking at a school I usually look to see how big or small it is. I am more interested in a school that is less than 10,000 students. A lot of times I look more at schools that are in the Midwest or a little further.
How do you think you will know when you’ve found the right school for you? I think when I find the right fit I will get a feeling of assurance or a feeling of excitement.
What’s important to you for the volleyball program? For my athletic future, I hope to be playing as much as possible –whether that means practicing or in games. I would mostly prefer to play in every game to have the experience and to get better.
Where are you in the process? I am currently towards the beginning of the whole recruiting process but I am in contact with several schools that have expressed their interest.
Lauren had 3.8 kills per set, 28 aces, 32 blocks, 235 digs and 325 serve receives. You can watch her in action here:
