These athletes have fallen under recruiting rules where they cannot have direct contact with Division 1 college coaches in regards to recruiting until June 15 of this year – which is approaching with no volleyball being played. No need to push the panic button. We have you covered. There’s plenty of time, there are plenty of great athletes, and here are a few from the Class of 2022 who can flat out score in multiple ways.
CantrellBrianna Cantrell Brianna Cantrell OH Appleton North | 2022 State #104 Nation WI – FC Elite 18 Elite
Cantrell is rising at a rapid pace in the Class of 2022. She has a special jumping ability and just a loose arm and snap to really put extra pace on the ball. Throughout the club season, Cantrell continued to get better each time she stepped on the court, adjusting to 18 Open play. She can score from the backcourt and even be a major threat to score from the service line. She was the 2019 Player of the Year in the FVA and 1st Team All State as a Sophomore. With her experience this club season she will be even more dangerous in her Junior season.
Aida Shadewald – Madison United 16 Red
This athlete needs to be on the radar, as in put her name in BOLD. I didn’t know much about Shadewald until I saw her light up the Badger Region Power League with her Madison United 16 Red squad who has consistently been one of the top teams in BRPL and have been extremely successful in multiple events. Shadewald is a six rotation outside who can score with what the defense gives her, taking the line, a sharp cross and just has that knack to use the block and get the ball back on her side to serve and score more. She will be a Junior at Sauk Prairie High School where she had over 450 kills as a Sophomore in 2019.
Mary Satori Mary Satori 5'11" | OH Manitowoc Lincoln | 2022 State WI – FC Elite 16 Navy
Satori has the versatility to score from a variety of positions, she’s been on the pin, but she can also play in the middle as well. She has consistently been a top spin jump server that is effective and efficient with a high ace count. With a high volume of swings, she will be able to really put a hurt on plenty of teams.

Sydney Lewellin Sydney Lewellin S Lake Mills | 2022 State WI – Milwaukee Sting 16 Black
A left handed setter, Lewellin can do so many things well – she is just the type of athlete you need on the court some way, somehow. She can score as a setter, or you put her on the right side and she can swing away with a heavy left handed swing. Her versatility provides a major upside to her game.
Maleah Howe Maleah Howe OH Oconomowoc | 2022 State #190 Nation WI – Milwaukee Sting 16 Gold
Howe approaches for a swing much like a tumbling pass in gymnastics (which she can do that too being a former gymnast). She is aggressive, gritty, and finds a way to score points. A hard swing down the line is her bread and butter, but she can hit hard cross and go high hands. She’s physical and dynamic. With a beach background as well she provides an all around game and versatility that makes her so valuable.
Madi TolzmanMadi Tolzman – Milwaukee Sting 16 Gold
Tolzman continues to improve from first seeing her play a lot a the Badger Team Camp in 2019 to winning a state title as a Sophomore with Arrowhead, and now finding a groove for Sting 16 Gold. Tolzman is long and dynamic, making her a scoring threat anywhere on the court. She can use a variety of angles to find an open spot as well as be an option out of system.
Claire Ammeraal Claire Ammeraal 6'0" | S Madison LaFollette | 2022 State #179 Nation WI – Capital 16 Adidas
There is still another gear to Ammeraal who has mostly been a setter for Capital 16 Adidas, but at 5’11 and left-handed she can jump and swing to the right back corner to score points. She puts up a nice ball and can dish to her hitters, but when she is in the front row she puts a ton of pressure on the other side of the net.
Dorci Walker Dorci Walker OH Columbus Catholic | 2022 State WI – Wisconsin Ice 16 Purple
Walker is one of the top players in Northern Wisconsin and has been a major go to athlete for Wisconsin Ice 16 Purple out of Wausau. She provides a big arm from the left side, but she is the type who can swing from any position. She was a key piece to the success of Columbus Catholic out of Marshall where she had over 350 kills.
[player_tooltip player_id="81264" first="Ally" last="Barth"]Ally Barth Ally Barth 6'0" | MB Edgewood | 2022 State WI – Balance 16s
Barth is super dynamic with how she can attack off one one foot and adjusts well to what the play gives her. She connects extremely well with her club setter, Maddy Fortune Maddy Fortune 5'8" | S McFarland | 2022 State WI where the Balance 16s team has been one to watch this winter. An all around athlete, Barth is one who will be on the radar this summer and will play a huge part in Edgewood High School’s season where they will be a top team to watch in D2.
Morgan Daugherty Morgan Daugherty 6'2" | MB Brookfield Central | 2022 State #200 Nation WI – Milwaukee Sting 16 Gold
Daugherty has always had the size and power, but now she is running a slide, attacking off one foot, scoring on tempo plays making her a threat all across the net. Her ability to strike and blast away off one foot is deadly. She’s contacting high and putting so much pace on the ball it makes it extremely tough for the defense to get a clean contact.
Myka Roethel Myka Roethel OH Howards Grove | 2022 State WI – FC Elite 17 Navy
Roethel has always had to play up an age level and is accustomed to playing against high level competition. She will be a Junior at Howards Grove and is the ultimate utility player. With a breakout weekend at Badger Region Qualifier, Roethel showed that she can score from either pin and also provides a dirty serve that really provides her team with more scoring chances.
Haley Graetz Haley Graetz OH River Falls | 2022 State WI – Kokoro 16-1
Graetz has played in two state tournaments as a middle blocker for River Falls, but will most likely be seen on the pin next season. She’s a great athlete and with that type of ability, the transition should be pretty smooth. She has great vision from the middle and when she goes to the pin, she will be able to blend that high IQ as well as the power she provides.
