They routinely pump out college ready players out of their program. We weren’t able to cover all of the great players in the program. Here are four more players that I think can fit into a college program if given the opportunity. I’m sure these young ladies would have gotten more exposure if the season hadn’t gotten cut short with the COVID-19 situation. But because we are in the situation we are in, I have decided to help them get some exposure with a highlight article. Now I truly believe that these four players can help a college program. Give them a look and I’d be happy to give more of a professional opinion if any of you want one. Without further ado, here they are:
Piper Boydstun [2021] 5-8 Setter (HS: Oak Ridge/Club: TAV Houston/ Verbal: Uncommitted)
Piper is a very athletic setter from Oak Ridge High School. She has a good solid upper body frame that keeps her form tight throughout each set. She has very good location along all spots and tempos. She is able to hit the same spot multiple times in a row, which shows her consistency. She is pretty quick on the ground, which allows her to track down any out of system passes from her teammates. The one aspect I truly like is that she jump sets from all areas of the court and is able to still locate very well. She knows how to run a fast and effective offense in spreading the ball around. She runs her quick tempos while being not perfectly in system, which keeps the defense off-balance. I like her and think she deserves to have a look from some smaller college programs soon.
Elizabeth See [2021] 6-1 Middle/Right Side (HS: Caldwell/Club: TAV Houston/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Elizabeth is a skilled blocker out of the middle who has very long arms and can seal the net very well with her upper body. She presses extremely well along the net and utilizer her core to do so. We talk about quickness a lot in the position and Elizabeth definitely has this down pat. She transitions off of the net with purpose and then approaches every rally as if she knows she’s getting the ball. This helps her to be ready to swing hard. And boy does she swing hard. She’s very impressive on the 31 set and swings well in the split of the block. She swings with authority. I like the way she plays the game. She has a lot of passion on the court and with her teammates. If you are a college coach and you still need a lengthy stopper in the middle to complete your roster, I strongly suggest you give Miss See a look or two. She could definitely help a collegiate team.
Ryann Ely [2021] 6-1 Right Side/Middle (HS: Concordia Lutheran/Club: TAV Houston/Verbal: Uncommitted)
This young lady can play on both pins as a six rotation player and scores very efficiently. I truly like the way she transitions off of the net and attacks the line against her opponent. She hits the line so well and disguises it as if she is attacking cross. She has a very strong swing that showcases very good power that will translate well to the collegiate game. Ryann has every shot you would want in a pin hitter. She is able to cut and also hit the deep corner. She has good size and is able to time very well on the block. She can be in a swing block program or a stationary system. I think this young lady deserves to be looked at by a few programs who are still in need of a six rotation pin hitter who can terminate the ball.
Skylar Nappier [2021] 5-9 Outside (HS: Hargrave/Club: TAV Houston/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Every true coach loves when a kid loves to play defense. Skylar is one of those players whose abilities on the court match her will to keep the ball alive. She has great reaction time on the ball and uses some good range to touch a lot of volleyballs in middle back. She has the uncanny ability to use her hands for an emergency dig on a high driven ball. While she might not be the prototypical height that college coaches drool over, she makes up for that in skill. She is just a pretty good volleyball player who is worth a look from at least a small school. You can tell that she loves to play the game by the way she competes on the court. She has a high volleyball IQ and uses that knowledge to score in a variety of ways on the left side. I like her off-speed game as well because it is very deceptive. But don’t sleep on this kid as she can bang on the left also when she needs to. I think this one deserves a look or two from some programs and I’ll talk to coaches I know about her.
