Here are five 15th Region setters to watch.
Bella Blackburn: A freshman setter, Blackburn is a student-athlete from Paintsville High School. Among the best setters in Eastern Kentucky as a freshman during the 2019 high school volleyball season, Blackburn registered 931 assists, 239 digs and 42 service aces in 37 matches. Blackburn possesses elite volleyball intelligence, makes smart decisions and is a precise passer.
Maddie Duff: A junior setter/right side, Duff is a student-athlete from Betsy Layne High School. Duff was a catalyst for Betsy Layne throughout the 2019 prep volleyball season, amassing 635 assists and 128 digs in 35 matches. Versatile and able to cover the court consistently, Duff is an excellent passer and a stellar hitter from the right side.
Alyssa McCoy: A sophomore setter, McCoy is a student-athlete from Martin County High School. McCoy was among the leaders for Martin County during the 2019 high school volleyball season, recording 344 assists, 181 digs and 38 service aces in 35 matches. Set to compete as a junior, McCoy has exhibited mental toughness in the first half of her prep career and will take on a larger role in 2020.
Riley Tavis Riley Tavis S Pikeville | 2021 State KY : A junior setter/right side, Tavis is a student-athlete from Pikeville High School. A leader for Pikeville in 2019, Tavis posted 788 assists, 180 digs, 175 kills and 65 service aces. Highly athletic, Tavis helped Pikeville to notch 30 wins. One of the top all-around high school volleyball players in Eastern Kentucky and a proven team leader, Tavis manages blocking responsibilities and setting duties routinely.
Amelia Wallace Amelia Wallace S Floyd Central | 2022 State KY : A sophomore setter, Wallace is a student-athlete from Floyd Central High School. Wallace was a key contributor for 15th Region champion Floyd Central (30-8) in 2019, logging 424 assists, 113 digs, 62 kills and 42 service aces. Agile, Wallace has shown the ability to run offenses and deliver assists regularly. Wallace is among the most experienced players due back for reigning 15th Region champion Floyd Central in the 2020 season.
