Here are five 1st Region outside hitters to watch.
Audrey Dowdy Audrey Dowdy OH Graves County | 2022 State KY : Thriving for Graves County as an outside hitter during her sophomore season in 2019, Dowdy led the Eagles in multiple categories. Dowdy recorded 539 kills, 411 digs and 45 service aces in 38 matches in 2019. Agile and possessing solid jumping abilities, Dowdy elevates well and is a solid server.
MaKenzie Mason: Among the state’s most underrated high school volleyball players, Mason helped to lead McCracken County throughout its run to the 1st Region volleyball title in 2019. Mason recorded 345 kills, 50 digs and 31 service aces for 1st Region champion McCracken County during the 2019 prep volleyball season. Heading into her senior campaign, Mason is an accurate passer who calls out hitters efficiently.
Halle Langhi: A reliable performer, Langhi helped to pace Marshall County throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season. As a sophomore in 2019, Langhi recorded 260 kills, 71 blocks, 93 digs and 54 digs in 35 matches for the Marshals. Stout at the net, Langhi is a stellar blocker and an aggressive hitter from the left side.
Jada Martin: Helping to lead Fulton City as a junior in 2019, Martin provided a lift in several categories. Martin registered 118 kills, 35 assists, 195 digs and 45 service aces for the Bulldogs during the 2019 high school volleyball season. A longtime leader who is athletic, Martin reads opposing hitters accurately while being a consistent digger.
Isabella Myers Isabella Myers 5'11" | S Ballard Memorial | 2022 State KY : Another reliable performer, Myers emerged as a go-to hitter for Ballard Memorial during her sophomore season in 2019. An outside hitter/setter, Myers led Ballard Memorial with 542 kills, 242 assists, 543 digs and 44 service aces in 39 matches in 2019. A hard hitter and outstanding passer, Myers adjusts well to sets coming from various locations.
