The 515 area code is much more than Des Moines which covers much of Central Iowa and I’m starting with athletes outside of the Des Moines area. We are talking the North Central Conference, Heart of Iowa, Raccoon River, and More. These athletes have plenty of options for clubs while also being successful in multiple sports. Later today, look for a post focusing on the Des Moines area as well honor and celebrate “515”.

Jadyn Jondle Jadyn Jondle DS/L Clarion-Goldfield Dows | 2021 State IA – Clarion-Goldfield-Dows
Committed to South Dakota
These two have been the catalyst for CGD and their rise to state prominence. They upset multiple ranked teams to advance to the Class 3A tournament as sophomores and this past season advanced to the final four in Class 2A. Middleton is a powerful outside attacker where she set a record for most kills in a Class 2A three set match in the quarterfinals with 34. Jondle is one of the top liberos to know in the Class of 2021 and has verbally committed to South Dakota. These two will be rivals in the Summit League with Middleton heading just a bit North to North Dakota State.

Alayna Finucan Alayna Finucan 5'5" | DS/L Webster City | 2022 State IA – Webster City
Finucan is soaring in the Class of 2022. Webster City and CGD are part of the North Central Conference where Finucan has to dig the swings of Middleton. This past Presidents Day, Finucan was so key in the Club Ignit Select 16 Blue’s run to the championship title. Extremely quick, scrappy, and very undercontrol with how she can put a serve or pace on point for teammate Lauren Carter Lauren Carter 5'11" | S Winterset | 2022 State #43 Nation IA (also from the 515 in Winterset) to run the show. So exciting to watch.
Gilbert
Gilbert has a really strong Senior class who will be looking to do some damage this upcoming season after falling one match short of state in 2019 with a loss to Xavier in the regional final. Athletes like Taylor Grinley Taylor Grinley S Gilbert | 2021 State IA , Nessa Johnson Nessa Johnson S Gilbert | 2021 State IA , and Thea Rotto Thea Rotto OH Gilbert | 2021 State IA are all top players in their class with Rotto scoring points on the outside and Grinley and Johnson who can set and swing. Johnson and Rotto recently played in the state basketball tournament.
Madison Geise – Roland Story
Geise is a solid all around athlete from the class of 2022. An athletic style to her game, she can score points on the right side, but can also run the show as a setter as well. A standout for RS and IPVA, she will look to leader her team this upcoming season along with fellow Class of 2022 athlete in Reagan Barkema.
Kinsie Zinnel Kinsie Zinnel DS/L Boone | 2021 State IA – Boone
Zinnel was one of the top dig leaders in the state enroute to being named Honorable Mention All State. Extremely quick and a controlled platform, Zinnel is able to anticipate to put a clean pass up to the setter.
Mosinski attacking
Sydney Mosinski Sydney Mosinski DS/L Nevada | 2021 State IA – Nevada
Nevada is a program to keep tabs on where they are disciplined, well trained, and have the athletes to go with. The Cubs are losing a very talented Senior class, but a key returner will be Sydney Mosinski Sydney Mosinski DS/L Nevada | 2021 State IA out of the middle. An extremely athletic force where she can attack off one foot. A key piece to their state tournament team, Mosinski will be back and will be the go to scorer where she can find the open spot.
Jori Hajek Jori Hajek 5'5" | OH Humboldt | 2021 State IA – Humboldt
I saw Hajek play as a Sophomore and was so impressed with her jumping ability. She may not have the height, but she has a major swing from the front and backrow that can score points. Humboldt has always had a strong program which has landed them in back to back regional finals. She was an Honorable Mention Class 3A All State athlete in 2019.
