Christ has an aggressive and effective style to her play on the left side. She looks confident in her movement both in serve receive and transition to make sure she is available as a primary option. She has good footwork to get to the ball and can bring a lot of heat off of her arm. As she shows good vision to be able to swing through a big range of the opponent’s court, she becomes more effective if she can get her left arm in the air upon lift to add elevation and, more importantly, create better balance at the peak of her jump. Christ is a competitor and has tools to position herself among the best prospects in this class over the next few seasons.

– 5’11 | OH | Champlin Park
A Champlin Park prospect, Hanson will enter into 2020 with experience and improved skills that should increase her impact competing among the states best programs. She has continued to develop her point scoring ability from a primary attacking position. She works hard in all facets and shows good footwork to pursue the set to create an aggressive opportunity with her arm. As her experience grows she will become a bigger factor by increasing her efficiency in her movement relative to point flow. Additionally, with a more dynamic approach and increased balance in the air she will become more difficult to defend. It will be fun to watch her compete this coming fall season with a potential increase in her workload following the departure of some key offensive personnel.

– 5’10 | MB | Spring Grove
A Southeast all-conference selection as a freshman in 2019, McHugh maximizes her tools extremely well in the middle. Perhaps undersized by comparison to most middles, she is athletic and plays with a lot of energy and competitive fire. Her engagement when the ball is in play is very noticeable and makes a big impact for her team. She took a lot of swings for her Spring Grove team and will likely see a big workload again in 2020. She can score from the outside and in the middle as she shows good patience-to-pursuit of the set when attacking. The end of her approach is aggressive to help her elevate and swing with power and through the full range of the opponent’s court. As a blocker she makes good reads and gets up and over quickly to slow down the hitter. McHugh’s stock will continue to rise and it will be fun to see how well she can sustain her production during her sophmore season.

– 6’1 | MH | SW Christian
Veurink has a great physical foundation to become an elite middle in Minnesota. At 6’1, she has great length and is athletic with a recorded jump touch just shy of 10’. She continues to develop her movement patterns around the floor, which includes her spacing and timing around her setter. When in sync and contacting at the peak of her jump she can get ahold of the ball well. With improved arm work to create more torque she will also increase her range and pace. As part of a great SW Christian program and playing for the top U15s team at Northern Lights, the continued training and competitive experience she gains will benefit her well.
