They can play multiple positions, they can play multiple sports, and I don’t know what their “Best” spot for them is, but what I know is that they can flat out play. They bring an excitement to the court, adjust quickly, and most likely come in the clutch because they’ve been in multiple positions like this where they have had to for different sports. Here are some athletes from the Class of 2022 that need to be on the radar.
Kelsey Drake Kelsey Drake 5'7" | OH Wilton | 2022 State IA of @IowaRockets playing so steady and efficient. Big point scorer on the volleyball and basketball court. The tempo of Rockets really putting pressure on the other side of the net. pic.twitter.com/6FJCcDYPjJ

Kelsey Drake Kelsey Drake 5'7" | OH Wilton | 2022 State IA – Iowa Rockets – Wilton High School (IA)
Drake has been a DS for Iowa Rockets, she can play on the pin, she can set and swing from anywhere at Wilton High School along with another Iowa Rocket and Wilton 2022 prep in Ella Caffery Ella Caffery 5'9" | S Wilton | 2022 State IA . These two are quite the duo! Drake also scored 46 points in a basketball game and is involved in track as well. She has the athletic ability to do some special things on the court and I can see a big breakout year as a Junior that will continue her already successful, all around career.
Chloe Largent Chloe Largent 6'1" | RS AC/GC | 2022 State IA – Club Ignit Select – ACGC High School (IA)
Largent can play anywhere is the front row and she has at a high level. Last year she was primarily in the middle, this year she was a right side for Club ignit and for high school, she scores a ton of points where anywhere in being one of the top kill leaders in the state. She was also a state high jumper last year as a freshman. With Largent being so dynamic and plenty of athleticism and versatility makes her so valuable in the gym and is the the type of athlete and person you want on your side of the net.
[player_tooltip player_id="81252" first="Maleah" last="Howe"]Maleah Howe Maleah Howe OH Oconomowoc | 2022 State #190 Nation WI – Milwaukee Sting – Oconomowoc High School (WI)
Howe has a background in plenty of sports. She can tumble like a gymnast as if its nothing, and she plays with such athleticism and physicality, it’s exciting to see what she can do every time she is involved in a play. The 5’9 outside hitter from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin has been dominant on the beach, has played in two state championship matches, and continues to impress as an all around athlete and individual. She will have plenty of options, its a matter of how she wants to be utilized or maybe even the beach route? This is what is so exciting (and I’m sure a little stressful) for athletes like Howe. What position? Beach or indoor? Then again, options are always great to have when it comes to the next level.
Meredith Street Meredith Street 5'5" | OH Osage | 2022 State IA – CIA – Osage (IA)
Street is much like how where she packs a punch with how she approaches and attacks, while also being a great all around athlete and individual. So far in her career at Osage she has competed in two state semifinals, state track and was sure to have a breakout track season in school and club teammate Kaebre Sullivan Kaebre Sullivan 6'1" | MB Osage | 2022 State IA who is another Class of 2022 prospect. Her explosiveness is something special.
Faith DeRonde Faith DeRonde 5'10" | OH Oskaloosa | 2022 State #165 Nation IA of Oskaloosa was so fun to watch today. Class of 2022 outside six rotations who will be a big time prospect this club season! pic.twitter.com/mm7TWWqVzr

Faith DeRonde Faith DeRonde 5'10" | OH Oskaloosa | 2022 State #165 Nation IA – Club Ignit Select – Oskaloosa (IA)
DeRonde is another multisport athlete where she’s had great success in volleyball as well as track. She has been playing an age level up on the Club Ignit 17 Blue squad where she is a six rotation outside hitter. There are plays where she can make something out of nothing and is always a threat to score no matter what position she is in on the court. An exciting athlete.
Jordan Karlen Jordan Karlen 5'9" | S Milton | 2022 State WI – Capital Volleyball Academy – Milton (WI)
CarlsonKarlen can do a little bit of everything, but she is so smooth when it comes to her setting and defense. With the signature braid and headband look, Karlen has been able to compete at a high level for Capital out of the Madison area. She led her high school team in almost every statistical category setting and hitting. Her future at the next level will be as a setter or defensive player, but again, her all around ability to do anything will be a major asset at the next level.
Tatum Carlson Tatum Carlson 5'6" | DS/L Tri-Center | 2022 State IA – SWI – Tri-Center (IA)
Carlson is the small school gem to keep tabs on from the Class of 2022. In her high school season she is the slice and dice outside hitter who scores a ton of points, but her future will be as a libero. All around skill and athleticism, Carlson plays for SWI Third Degree out of Council Bluffs, IA on the other side of the river from Omaha. She will be key for her high school squads return to the state tournament. 2020 before coronavirus had other plans. She has already won some hardware with high
