The Village of Milford is renowned for many things.
This includes, “The downtown area is on the National Register of Historic Places, yet the places and spaces beyond it are just as memorable, including both familiar retailers and Milford-exclusive spots,” according to Meetmeinmilford.com.
The City of Utica also has its own claims to fame. Known as, “The Pioneer City”, it is described by Cityofutica.org as, “an example of small town life with all the amenities of the larger communities in the Detroit metro area. Our schools, both parochial and public, are some of the best in the State.”
On the surface it may not appear clear what these destinations have in common. But, one thing both locations are absolutely on the same page about is club volleyball. It’s a passion and a commitment that runs deep in both communities, and the 14U athletes in this mix are certainly no exception. SARAH LEATCH
Wearing jersey number 14 and playing Right Side Hitter for MOJO 14 Navy in Milford, Leatch is a part of the class of 2024 at Milford High School.
“(Sarah has a true) work ethic, (has made) solid offensive improvement (and displays real) versatility,” said MOJO Volleyball Club Director and Coach Shannon Loso.
STEPHANIE SAUNDERS
Playing both Middle and Right Hitter for the Great Lakes Volleyball Club 14-Venesa in Macomb, Saunders is a member of the class of 2024 at Trinity Utica.
“Can do a lot of things, set, block, and hit really well,” said GLVBC coach Paul Drdul. “She has a very aggressive serve, and is very consistent with it.”
KRISTEN CONRAD
This Lakeland HS member of the class of 2024 plays Right Side Hitter and wears jersey number 16 for MOJO 14 Navy.
“(Conrad is a) hustle machine (who is) focused,” Loso said. “(She is also a) solid attacker off of the net.”
KAMRYN RASTIGUE
A member of the class of 2024 at St. Mary’s, Rastigue plays the position of Settter for GLVBC 14-Venesa.
“Really good setter, great hands, very consistent and can set all three hitters well,” Drdul said. “She has a very aggressive serve, and is a good passer on defense.”
FINLEY OSTACH
A Middle Blocker who wears jersey number three with MOJO 14 Navy, Ostach attends Lakeland HS and is a part of the class of 2024.
“(Finley is a) strong defender and consistent attacker and blocker who reads the court well,” said Loso.
Another Outside Hitter on the roster with MOJO 14 Navy is Milford HS member of the class of 2024 Alyssa Sienko, who wears jersey number 11.
“(Avery is a) Leader (with a true) work ethic and dedication to improvement (and a) consistent passer,” Loso said.
