We have smart hitters. We have six-rotation. We have a little of everything in our list of top uncommitted outsides.
Helena Eubanks – Staley High School – 816 Mavs KC
Eubanks had a breakout season for the Falcons in 2019. She falls into the definition of a power hitter on the left pin. She was forced into the primary scorer role last season. She responded by leading the team in kills with 190. She is developing into a six rotation players. She showed signs over the high school and shortened club season that she can be a solid back-row player. Standing at 5″11″, she holds her own at the net defensively with her ability to get touches and blocks. Here are a few highlights.
Aly Anderson – Platte County High School – Mizuno Club North
Anderson is easily a prospect as a hitter or setter at the next level. We list her as a hitter due to that being her primary position during her career at Platte County. We may see her set more this year after losing one of their two setters. The 5’9″ Anderson was a key to the Pirate success last season. She finished the year with 198 kills. She sees the court very well. She has a good mixture of shots and utilizes them to great success. Anderson is valuable as a passer also, adding almost 300 on the season. Here are some highlights to check out.
Kendra Leigh Siefker – Fort Osage High School – Invasion Volleyball
Siefker is what we would label a power and finesse hitter. She finds any and every open spot on the floor. She has a good swing and brings power when she wants, but she knows how to keep defenses on their toes. She has a soft touch and finds the open floor with the tip and roll shots. The 5’9″ hitter had 243 kills, with an efficient .354 hitting percentage in her junior season. She played largely in the middle last fall but figures to play on the pins in college. Her ability to read the block and defense is her greatest strength and leads to minimizing errors. Check out some of Siefker in action here.
Brooke Miller – Harrisonville High School – Invasion Volleyball
At times you just have to wait for your moment and Miller did by having a big junior season for Harrisonville. The 5’11” hitter showed she can compete on the next level. Last fall, Miller had 193 kills after only 130 the season prior. A powerful hitter, you better be ready on defense or you will be lit up! She does a great job of hitting lines and seams. Her height and jumping ability allows her to get over the block consistently. She is a pretty good passer and can also swing from the back row. We wouldn’t be surprised if she gets over 300 kills this fall. Here are some highlights of Miller.
Edit: Miller is committed to Northwestern Oklahoma State University
Kylie Gregory – Blue Springs South High School – Invasion Volleyball
Gregory largely helped herself in her recruitment a season ago. She had a breakout season in one of the toughest conferences in the state. Last fall, the Jaguars had periods in which two of their main hitters were out and Gregory stood tall. In her first season of varsity action, she would finish the season with 150 kills in 67 sets. She was off to a strong start of the club season until it came to an end. However, coaches were starting to get a glimpse of what the 5’9″ hitter can do on the pins. Gregory is a smart hitter and does a great job of tooling the hands of blockers. We saw her pass the ball well from the back row and shows she can take heavy swings from behind the 10-foot line.
