The 2022 class in this conference has some of the most athletic and prolific skill both regionally and nationally and is proving to be very worthy of all that attention. With Eagan ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’s rising junior trio of Simara Amador Simara Amador 5'7" | DS/L Eagan | 2022 State MN , Sienna Ifill Sienna Ifill 6'1" | RS Eagan | 2022 State #83 Nation MN , and Kendal Kemp Kendal Kemp 6'6" | MB Eagan | 2022 State #84 Nation MN and Prior Lake’s Julia Hanson Julia Hanson 6'0" | OH Prior Lake | 2022 State #57 Nation MN , a Minnesota commit, the conference schedule is full of great competition that will dynamic, dramatic, and definitely fun to watch. As these four athletes are among Prep Dig’s top 10 within the class of 2022’s prospect rankings, the talent in this conference certainly does not stop there. Here is a collection of other 2022 athletes to watch this fall season (in alphabetical order).

Berran is another key element from the 2022 class for the juggernaut that is Eagan ‘ last=”]’ last=”]. She is not to be overlooked when considering this team and the athletes previously mentioned above. Her setting mechanics are simple with clean and consistent extension through both pins. Her movement around the floor is efficient as she gets herself to the second touch on balance, which makes her a tough read defensively. As an attacker, she has good footwork and can swing through the ball with good speed but her strength is definitely in her ability to lead an offense as a setter. Eagan ‘ last=”]’ last=”] should open the season once again atop the rankings.
Katelyn Bodnar

– 6’1 | OH/MH |
Lakeville South
Bodnar has good offensive versatility and an arm that can put some good pace and movement on the ball. She is a rangy athlete at 6’1 with good reach and extension. She gets her feet to the ball well and utilizes her lift that can create that can challenge the block well in the air. The Cougars have a nice core of returning athletes that will benefit well from last season and some club ball in 2020. Bodnar’s contributions should increase this fall as
Lakeville South
will look to steady their success towards a deep postseason run.
Tiara Diamond

Diamond
5'7" | OH
Eastview | 2022
State
MN
– 5’9 | OH/L | Eastview
Diamond played a lot on the pin for Eastview in 2019 before spending a good amount of time at libero for her M1 club team. She has good athleticism that benefits her well in both roles. If she is to return to Eastview as a pin attacker this fall she should find good success as a six-rotation contributor. She has good ball control and defensive range with good elevation and arm control in the air. In either or both roles she will certainly be a key factor for Eastview and their run through this tough conference.
Courtney Haugen – 5’6 | DS/L | Prior Lake
Haugen is one to watch in this class as she has a solid skill foundation as a ball control athlete and should be considered as an addition for the forthcoming 2022 rankings update. She has a good base with preparation that is simple and balanced. She also has good vision in reading point flow to be able to fill the gaps or anticipate where the ball might travel off the attacker’s arms. She also can apply good pressure from the service line. Look for her to help Prior Lake improve upon their 2019 effort overall.
Emma Horning – 5’9 | S | Shakopee
Horning contributed very well last season in a defensive role as she reads the floor well and has good quickness to pursue the ball. She should assume the primary setting duties following the graduation of Shakopee’s floor leader from a year ago. She adds a bit more size to that position and will be fun to watch as her role should shift significantly to one of running the offense for one of the best volleyball traditions in the greater metro area.
Abby Jandro

Jandro

Lakeville North | 2022
State
MN
– 5’10 | S | Lakeville North
Jandro continues to solidify herself as one of the premier setters in this class. Her skills and floor leadership elevated the offensive production of Lakeville North in 2019, helping to carry them to the state tournament. Her quickness and movement around the floor help her to get to the ball often so that she has multiple options available to her. She can distribute through the full court and optimizes her attackers very well. The Panthers return the bulk of their productivity and should open the season as one of the heavy favorites to get to the final weekend once again.
Bailey Leeke

Lakeville North | 2022
State
MN
– 5’10 | RS | Lakeville North
Leeke maxmizes her tools well on the right side. At 5’10 she may not be the most imposing athlete at opposite by comparison to other teams in this conference but she can be effective. Being left-handed adds a dimension that can create advantages for her on that side of the floor. She is athletic and with good vision of what is in front of her when swinging she has the ability to move the ball around with good range and pace. As her offensive opportunities should increase this fall, she has a terrific setter and a terrific corps of attackers to support her.
Maddie Lipetzky

Lipetzky

Shakopee | 2022
State
MN
– 6’0 | MH | Shakopee
Her long frame and reach make her effective in the middle. Lipetzky has good athleticism and quickness that includes good lift off the floor and that helps her to be very effective both offensively and defensively. Her footwork and movement patterns put her in good position to swing fast. She has good range with her arm and can get on the ball fast. Her defensive patience and hand penetration across the net puts a lot of pressure on opposing attackers. Look for her to be an even bigger factor this fall.
