Here are three 1st Region sophomore middles to watch.
Ally Dietsch: Producing early in her prep career, Dietsch helped to pace Carlisle County as a freshman during the 2019 high school volleyball season. After competing in each of Carlisle County’s 31 matches during the 2019 campaign, Dietsch finished with 101 kills, 39 blocks, 15 assists and 14 digs. Poised to produce even more as a sophomore in the 2020 prep volleyball season, Dietsch provides a strong presence at the net and uses quick attacks on offense.
Kinley Doublin Kinley Doublin MB Ballard Memorial | 2023 State KY : Another experienced middle blocker, Doublin was on the floor in each of 3rd District Runner-up and 1st Region Semifinalist Ballard Memorial’s 39 matches during the 2019 high school volleyball season. Excelling in 2019, Doublin recorded 102 kills and 57 digs. Agile, Doublin has shown the ability to move along the net. Doublin reads setters efficiently and closes blocks with teammates consistently.
Avery Thompson: Another experienced middle blocker, Thompson was on the court for 3rd District Champion and 1st Region Runner-up Graves County throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season. In Graves County’s 38 matches, Thompson posted 22 kills and 50 blocks (47 solo blocks). Athletic with a diverse skillset, Thompson executes fasts attacks regularly and has displayed the ability to thrive in multiple roles.
