This has caused a lot of movement within the rankings and led to some very great discussions. It makes our job so much harder but it is a great problem to have. Maya Johnson Maya Johnson 6'1" | MB Bowie | 2021 State TX [2021] 6-1 Middle/Outside (HS: Bowie/Club: Austin Juniors/ Verbal: Uncommitted)
Maya Johnson Maya Johnson 6'1" | MB Bowie | 2021 State TX comes in ranked as the number 48 best prospect in the 2021 class according to our State Rankings. Miss Johnson is a true high flyer. She is a part of the coveted 10-foot club. The fact that she touches so high isn’t what is great about her blocking ability. It is her ability to press over the net and seal it off from her opponents. She is a strong weapon in front of the setter, but in my onion she is almost unstoppable on the slide behind the setter. She is a show -topper on her club team. While she is on the radar of quite a few clubs, if you are a college coach, I would highly recommend that you get this kid on your short list ASAP. She will be LETHAL in a few years with the right technician as a trainer. As an update to what we originally wrote, Miss Johnson is looking for a school with a great biology or marine biology program. If you are a college coach and are a good fit, I think you should give her a look.
DeAndra Pierce DeAndra Pierce 6'0" | MB Austin | 2021 State TX [2021] 6-0 Middle (HS: Austin/Club: Austin Juniors/Verbal: Uncommitted)
DeAndra Pierce DeAndra Pierce 6'0" | MB Austin | 2021 State TX is now the 53rd best overall prospect in the 2021 class with the latest update to our rankings. Austin areas 25-6A newcomer of the year makes the grade on this list. College coaches will drool once they see the raw natural athleticism this young lady brings to the table. She can fly AND she contacts the ball truly at the top of her touch point. Opposing blockers will get lucky to touch her attack. That much power should just not come from such a wiry frame, but it does. She hits with so much power that is so much fun to watch. She can hit both a high tempo behind a setter and fast tempos coming out of the middle in transition. That is the definition of athleticism on the court. Timing is everything in attacking and this young lady has no flaws when it comes to timing. An update to Miss Pierce is that she continues to shine as she is also a part of the 10 foot club with her approach touch. Middles who can fly and are this athletic are not something you see every day. If I were a college coach, I would love to take this young lady under my wing and mold her into a scoring machine.
Nyah Anderson Nyah Anderson 6'0" | OH Reagan | 2021 State TX [2021] 6-0 Outside (HS: Reagan/Club: SA Magic/Verbal: Miami)
It is with great pleasure to reintroduce Nyah Anderson Nyah Anderson 6'0" | OH Reagan | 2021 State TX as the 54th top prospect in the great state of Texas according to our rankings. Miss Anderson has earned 6A TGCA All State honors and was the 27-6A District Offensive Player of the Year. Nyah turns heads everywhere Reagan plays. Her size and balanced movement is not only evident in the front row but in the back row as well. They have relied on her talent for the past couple of years and her senior season should be no different. They will look to her for her leadership and experience in this tough district. Nyah is committed to Miami and will provide the Hurricanes the same time of explosiveness that she has been bringing to her Magic volleyball club and the Rattler program. When she cocks her arm back, the other team better put up at least a decent block because if not, I feel sorry for the defender. They pretty much have no chance as she unleashes some awesome power on the ball. This young lady is super explosive and she wows the crowd every time she takes the court.
