Fretheim has a great skill set that creates a variety of ways that she can be effective. She is impressive in the middle as she has good lift off the floor and creates good spacing and timing on quick tempos options. She also has arm power and control that can challenge the defense well. She is an effective blocker as well and can put up strong hands to slow down attackers. One of her biggest strengths is at the service line and she can deliver good pace and movement that applies a lot of pressure on opponents. Fretheim has been an important part of the Burnsville effort for multiple seasons and will enter 2020 with veteran experience that should lead this team throughout the fall.

Higley is steady. Her composure in the back row is really good as her style of play is simple and efficient in her reactions to point flow. She tracks the ball very well in serve receive with good footwork and angle creation. Defensively she has good vision and awareness of the opponent’s offense and makes the right play with her quickness and range. She has been a varsity athlete for a handful of years, amassing over 1,000 digs so far in her career, and will undoubtedly be a key factor for this team during her senior season. She is under the radar but helps add depth to a solid 2021 class for ball control, libero, and/or defensive specialist types of athletes. She is worth a good look and evaluation over the next few months.

Rubbelke is an impressive athlete and volleyball player and so fun to watch compete. At just 5’3 she has impressive jumping ability to be able to score points as a left side attacker. She has a nice arm and swings with good control and range based on her vision and what is in front of her. At the net she can also set a good block. Her ball control and defense is her biggest strength as she has good passing footwork and fundamentals with her platform. Defensively is where she shines as she brings a relentless pursuit type of attitude to the court and use her quickness to not let any ball touch the floor. Her effort, energy, and skill set has potential to translate well to the next level. Be sure to keep an eye on North St. Paul this fall so you can see this dynamic athlete compete.

Sendle is a terrific role player and has a well-rounded skill set. For both Centennial and her Synergy club team she played a lot of six-rotation volleyball as a right side attacker. She has great court awareness and arm control to make plays that are difficult to defend, whether delivering a hard-driven attack or something off speed. Defensively she has good vision and reaction to make plays look effortless around the court. Centennial has some big arms returning and Sendle should support them well making this team competitive for 2020.

Zimmerman is a well-rounded multi-sport athlete that will provide some veteran experience to the volleyball team at Moorhead as a middle blocker. She has good length and mobility to be aggressive on offense either in front of the setter or behind off of one foot. Her movement and size also benefit her well defensively as she can get up with strong hands across the tape fast when blocking. Moorhead has always been a big school program outside the greater Metro area that typically competes well every year. The first few weeks of their season will provide a good indication of their late-season chances. In any case, Zimmerman will be a big factor.
