So, there were like 40 really good hitters at the Omaha Summer Bash. I am going to split them up into Iowa hitters and Nebraska hitters to simplify this a little. This is just my personal list of favorites that I was impressed with this weekend from Nebraska.
Riley Hartman (OH, 2021, Bennington)
Riley had 1.5 KPS, 90.0% serve efficiency with 23 aces, 20 total blocks, and 1.5 DPS last school season and looks like she has had much growth over the last year. I look for much development and growth from her by what I saw at the Summer Bash this past weekend. Look for big things from her during her senior season.
Ellie Apfel (OH, 2021, Grand Island Northwest)
Last year Ellie had 1.6 KPS, 81.5% serve efficiency with 27 aces, and 96 total blocks. She looks ready for her senior season this fall and plays like it is the last time she will take the court. It looks like she is going to have an explosive season this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id="102017" first="Bailey" last="Jeffers"], class of 2021, OH, Waverly, jersey #5. Bailey JeffersBaileyJeffers6'0" | OHWaverly | 2021NE (OH, 2021, Waverly) Bailey has a lot of power and looks ready for big things this coming season. She had 2.2 KPS, 10 total blocks, and 52 digs last season. There is no doubt those stats will improve this coming school season with what I saw this past weekend. She looks aggressive with a heavy swing with lots of power behind it. [player_tooltip player_id="58212" first="Macy" last="Kamler"], class of 2021, OH, BDS, jersey #23. Macy KamlerMacyKamler5'9" | OHBDS | 2021StateNE (OH/MH, 2021, BDS) Macy looked really good this weekend. She looks ready to lead this team through the next season. She is definitely one of the best hitters I have seen this weekend and one to keep on your radar through this coming year. Reviewing her junior year film as well as what I saw this past weekend, she is a heavy hitter with a really high volleyball IQ. She will hit you anywhere and block you too. She is very dangerous to her opponents. Macey Bosord, class of 2022, OH, Northwest, jersey #6. Macey BosardMaceyBosard5'11" | OHGrand Island Northwest | 2022StateNE (OH, 2022, Grand Island Northwest) Macey’s sophomore year she had 2.1 KPS, 84.7% serve percentage with 11 aces, 24 total blocks, and 3.1 DPS. She helped her team finish in the Gold tournament at the Summer Bash this past weekend and looked better than ever. She is a real asset to Grand Island Northwest and has two more seasons to grow and develop. Look for her to be a breakout star this coming school season. [player_tooltip player_id="37572" first="Ellie" last="Dougherty"], class of 2022, OH, Mercy, jersey #16, club team Banzai 161. She looked great at the Summer Bash and last year had 3.1 KPS, 80.5% serve efficiency with 45 aces, 18 total blocks, and 2.6 DPS. Definitely a threat from all around the court she is really looking poised to pounce this fall and have a huge season. [player_tooltip player_id="58819" first="Madelyn" last="Meyerle"], class of 2022, RS/OH, Diller-O’Dell, jersey #2. [player_tooltip player_id="78663" first="Mariah" last="Sliva"], class of 2022, OH/MH, BDS, jersey #3. Mariah SlivaMariahSliva5'7"BDS | NE (OH/MH, 2022, BDS) Mariah is an exceptional hitter. She can hit from left, hit from the right, and hit from the middle. After watching her this weekend, I decided to go watch some film from her sophomore season....wow. She was so good last year and looked even better this past weekend. Look for big things from her this fall and the next club season. She is explosive, smart, and very aware of the other side of the court. I just see continued growth and perfection of her skills going forward. [player_tooltip player_id="59202" first="Karli" last="Heidemann"], class of 2023, OH, Diller-O’Dell, jersey #14. Karli HeidemannKarliHeidemann6'1" | OHDiller-Odell | 2023StateNE (OH, 2022, Diller-Odell) Karli is an exceptional outside and she still has two more years to play. Last year she had 4.3 KPS, 88.4% serve efficiency with 55 aces, 33 total blocks, 2.4 DPS. Those are sophomore stats...again wow. With a year worth of growth and touches on the ball, she looks more poised and ready to really lay it all out this coming season. Jenna JakubowskiJennaJakubowski5'8" | OHSt. Paul | 2023StateNE (OH, 2023, St.Paul) Jenna is an excellent hitter despite getting ready to start her sophomore season. I was actually stunned to realize how young so many of these great hitters were at the Summer Bash last weekend and Jenna did not disappoint. I spoke with her coach and he told me Jenna is a hitter he expects big things from in the coming season. Look for only great things to come from this athlete. Evie Howard, class of 2023, OH, Bennington, jersey #4. Evie Howard (OH, 2023, Bennington) Evie is entering her sophomore season with high expectations from her coach. She only played 63 sets her freshman year but had 66 kills, 3 aces, 12 blocks, and 50 digs. She looks to have grown a ton from last season and is ready to have a breakout season this fall. Emily HagedornEmilyHagedorn5'9" | OHMillard South | 2022NE (OH, 2022, Millard South) Emily is entering her junior season and looks ready for a breakout year. She looks sharp and ready to point her opponents to death. She hits down the line, crosscourt, from the back, from anywhere really. She has a high volleyball IQ and is dangerous already before entering her junior season. Keep an eye on this athlete, she is a really talented hitter ready to control her season.
