The 1st Region featured multiple improved teams during the 2019 high school volleyball season. 

Here are three 1st Region volleyball teams on the rise. 

Community Christian (Paducah): Compiling a winning record, Community Christian (Paducah) ended the 2019 high school volleyball season 16-15. The Warriors were 11-16 in 2018. Community Christian (Paducah) suffered a season-ending loss to rival Paducah Tilghman in the 2019 2nd District Volleyball Tournament Semifinals. The top returning players for Community Christian (Paducah) include Anna Black (Jr., MH), Olivia Carroll (So., S/DS), Lilli Clinard (Sr., OH), Kayla Stevens (Sr., S/DS/RH) and Natalie Rottmann (Jr., DS/OH). 

Hickman County: Recording the third-most wins in the 3rd Region, Hickman County concluded the 2019 high school volleyball season 25-9. The Falcons showed much improvement after registering a 11-21 record in 2018. Hickman County captured the 1st District title and made an appearance in the 1st Region Volleyball Tournament during its latest campaign. Senior defensive specialist/opposite hitter Madison Dowdy (175 digs, 58 kills, 34 service aces), senior opposite hitter Alexis Bartolo (100 kills, 68 digs, 63 service aces)  and junior defensive specialist Tori Browning (150 digs) are headed back to the court for the Falcons.
