Here’s a look at three All-State liberos returning.
Eleanor Beavin Eleanor Beavin DS/L Mercy | 2021 State KY : The state’s 2019 defensive player of the year, Beavin is a libero from Mercy. Beavin was a key performer as Mercy finished as the 2019 state runner-up. During the 2019 high school volleyball season, her junior campaign, Beavin, a University of Kentucky commit, recorded 679 digs, 116 assists, 89 service aces and 22 kills. The Jaguars ended the 2019 high school volleyball season 36-7 following the state runner-up finish. Mercy is the reigning champion in both the 24th District and 6th Region. Beavin, who was a First Team All-State selection in 2019, possesses excellent passing and defensive skills.
Kelsey Brangers Kelsey Brangers DS/L Central Hardin | 2021 State KY : Another First Team All-State honoree in 2019, Brangers is a libero from Central Hardin. As a junior, Brangers, a Western Kentucky University commit, thrived throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season, posting 561 digs, 124 assists, 54 service aces and 21 kills for Central Hardin in 40 matches. Central Hardin finished runner-up to Elizabethtown in both the 17th District and 5th Region. Possessing solid passing and defensive skills, Brangers is versatile and productive. Brangers has displayed the ability to set the ball when the setter isn’t available.
Caroline Cole Caroline Cole DS/L Dunbar | 2021 State KY : A Second Team All-State honoree in 2019, Cole is a libero from Paul Laurence Dunbar. The top defensive player in Lexington during the 2019 high school volleyball season, Cole excelled for the Bulldogs, pacing Paul Laurence Dunbar in digs and ranking third in assists. Cole helped to lead the way as Paul Laurence Dunbar captured the 43rd District championship and finished runner-up in the 11th Region. A longtime leader for Dunbar, Cole has shown the ability to make challenging digs and provide stellar passes. Cole has committed to Kennesaw State University.
