Megan Camden- As the libero for Beechwood, Megan Camden played middle back for the squad because of her steady passing capability. Camden is one of those defensive specialists that is always there, in the right spot, and ready to pursue. She had 298 digs on the year with an impressive 3.82 digs per set! Camden helped the Tigers especially in the game against Conner where she had a career record of 19 digs! She will be a force to watch in her senior year.
Lucy Trump Lucy Trump OH Ryle | 2022 State #38 Nation KY – With only being a sophomore, Lucy Trump Lucy Trump OH Ryle | 2022 State #38 Nation KY managed to be a key player for the Ryle squad where she was a force in not only the front row but the back row. Her defensive skills were quite amazing as well where she tallied up the second most digs for her team at 210, only behind their senior libero. Trump was also big in the front row hitting a .444 with 435 kills. Her knowledge of the game and defensive reading helped the team in their winning record. Lucy should do great things for her junior year in 2020!
Maia Long Maia Long OH Dixie Heights | 2023 State KY – There were many great players for Dixie Heights, but one that served as a huge asset to their success was Maia Long Maia Long OH Dixie Heights | 2023 State KY . As just a freshman, she managed to rack up 312 kills and an even more impressive 298 digs with a 3.01 dig average! It’s a hard feat to go around 3 rotations and score as many digs as Long did… Imagine the big things she will do in her future! You’ll definitely be seeing Maia Long Maia Long OH Dixie Heights | 2023 State KY ’s name on the 2023 watch list.
Chloe Fortner Chloe Fortner 5'5" | DS/L Cooper | 2023 State KY – A starting libero for Cooper, Chloe Fortner Chloe Fortner 5'5" | DS/L Cooper | 2023 State KY showed her strength and steadiness in the back row as just a freshman. She led the team and region with 519 digs which was also 21st in the state! She averaged 4.99 digs a set which is absolutely insane for any freshman. Fortner played up during club season with the NKYVC 16-1 Tsunami team and constantly shows her athletic capability in the back row. This girl will definitely be making waves in the 9th region!
Kaitlyn Luebbers- Also for Cooper, Kaitlyn Luebbers was a very impactful player all around the floor where she hit a .406 with 439 kills AND had 435 digs with a 4.03 dig average. Again, it’s always interesting to see how these hitters rack up their digs since they only play in the back row for 3 rotations compared to these liberos who have 6. Luebbers is known for being able to do it all, and she will be fun to watch offensively and defensively her senior year!
