Offense seems to be the star of the show in volleyball, but there’s no way the sport could go on without our defensive players. They make the backbone of volleyball and are crucial to a team’s success. Here are four top 9th region defensive machines to watch! 

Megan Camden- As the libero for Beechwood, Megan Camden played middle back for the squad because of her steady passing capability. Camden is one of those defensive specialists that is always there, in the right spot, and ready to pursue. She had 298 digs on the year with an impressive 3.82 digs per set! Camden helped the Tigers especially in the game against Conner where she had a career record of 19 digs! She will be a force to watch in her senior year. 

Lucy TrumpLucyTrumpOHRyle | 2022StateKY- With only being a sophomore, Lucy TrumpLucyTrumpOHRyle | 2022StateKY managed to be a key player for the Ryle squad where she was a force in not only the front row but the back row. Her defensive skills were quite amazing as well where she tallied up the second most digs for her team at 210,
