Here’s a look at the Stock Risers in the Prep Dig Kentucky Class of 2023 Rankings.
Madison Roar Madison Roar S Rowan County | 2023 State KY (3): A setter for reigning champion Rowan County, Roar was named the 2019 Region 16 Player of the Year. Roar, who competed for Lexington United earlier in the year during the shortened 2020 club volleyball season, recorded 757 assists, 211 digs, 64 service aces and 85 kills in 2019. An accurate passer and vocal leader, Roar runs offenses efficiently and identifies blockers well.
Maya Hunt Maya Hunt S Holy Cross (Covington) | 2023 State KY (11): A defensive specialist, Hunt was among the leaders for Holy Cross (Covington) in 2019. A key player for perennial title contender Holy Cross, Hunt registered 451 assists, 136 digs, 92 service aces and 37 kills during her freshman campaign. Hunt is a strong back row hitter who digs and pursues well.
Maia Long Maia Long OH Dixie Heights | 2023 State KY (16): An outside hitter, Long stepped up for Dixie Heights during the 2019 high school volleyball season. Thriving for Dixie Heights as a freshman, Long posted 312 kills, 33 blocks, 298 digs and 28 service aces. A strong hitter from the left side, Long has shown the ability to make challenging digs consistently.
Ashleigh Messick Ashleigh Messick OH West Jessamine | 2023 State KY (22): An outside hitter, Messick helped to lead West Jessamine to the 2019 12th Region volleyball title during her freshman season. As a freshman, Messick recorded 230 kills, 22 blocks, 301 digs and 68 service aces. A solid all-around performer, Messick reads defenses efficiently and delivers from both the front row and the back row.
