<p>It's a known fact that Omaha Skutt Catholic is LOADED with talent. And now it's <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="37531" first="Abby" last="Schomers"]</strong> turn to announce her commitment!! </p>
<p>The 6' junior setter will be continuing her education and volleyball career at the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">University of Central Florida Knights</span>!</p>
<p>Schomers comments, <em>"In the beginning, I was looking at about a dozen D1 schools! I had multiple D1 offers, but UCF definitely felt like a home away from home. I really connected with the coaching staff right from the start. I was open to going anywhere, but I wanted to make sure I found the right fit! We talked every week learning new facts about their program, campus, academics, and team! I went on a zoom with the freshmen and instantly felt welcomed and their excitement!"</em></p>
<p>Abby plans to study Occupational Therapy. She plays club at Nebraska Elite. </p>
<p>Under Coach Todd Dagenias since 2008, UCF went 25-8 in 2019. Their 2020 season is postponed to the spring of 2021. UCF won in the first round of the NCAA Championship Tournament against Florida State, 3-2, before falling in the second round to #10 Florida, 3-0. UCF belongs to the American Athletic Conference that includes Cincinnati, East Carolina, Houston, Memphis, SMU, Temple, Tulane, Tulsa, USF. and Witchita State.</p>
