The Spartans have tons of talent from every different position and are always fun to watch because of their competitive nature and fun, unique energy. Here are six South Warren players to watch in the upcoming season!
Kaylee Gifford- A returning junior for the Spartans, Kaylee Gifford has been one of most positive, energized players South Warren has seen in a long time. Gifford earned the libero jersey as just a sophomore and racked up 277 digs with a whopping 3.38 digs per set. She is definitely one of the best defensive specialists in the region and has a lot of potential for this 2020 season!
Maddie Rockrohr Maddie Rockrohr 5'6" | OH South Warren | 2022 State KY – After not starting in the beginning of the season, Maddie Rockrohr Maddie Rockrohr 5'6" | OH South Warren | 2022 State KY earned her spot as a starting outside for the squad in 2019 as just a sophomore. She showed her dominance by leading the team with kills at 286 and hitting a .283 which is a great average for an outside. Rockrohr’s jumping ability and athleticism truly makes her a fun player to watch. Maddie is uncommitted as of now but loves playing indoor and beach volleyball!
Sydney Clayton Sydney Clayton S South Warren | 2021 State KY – With 1019 assists, Sydney Clayton Sydney Clayton S South Warren | 2021 State KY led the team in the setting position as just a junior. She fought her way to start her freshman year and has consistently showed off her talent with how smooth and calm she is as a setter. Clayton is a key asset to the team and will make up a huge part of the hopeful success for the Spartans in 2020!
Sophie Doszak- With just being a defensive specialist for the Spartans, Sophie Doszak still put up significant numbers, averaging 2.51 digs a game and having a total of 221 digs on the year. She was also great from the service line with 26 aces. Doszak is known for her quiet nature in the backrow but being a steady force with putting the ball in the setter’s hands. She gets the job done every time she’s in the game. Doszak will be a senior for the Spartans and is still uncommitted to where she wants to go!
Annie Goley- A future senior for the Spartans, Annie Goley had 32 digs on the year with only being represented in 18 matches. Goley may be small, but she is truly a smart all-around player where her competitive nature leads to her success. Since Layla Jackson graduated this past year, one of the defensive specialist positions will be open, and it’s Goley’s for the taking! Her smooth platform and calm attitude will create a great presence on the court for the Spartans.
