Here’s a scouting report on the players that shined in Spring Hill’s 25-13, 25-18, 15-25, 25-15 seasoning opening win.
The Three Stars of the Game
OH, Jayln Stevenson, 5’11 (’21 Ranked No. 21) – Stevenson filled up the stat sheet in Spring Hill’s win. Committed to play at Washburn University, Stevenson finished the evening with 22 kills, 22 digs, and one block. The future DII athlete plays front row, back row, and serves. She never left the court during the opening match.
MH, Ali Frank Ali Frank 6'0" | MB Spring Hill | 2021 State KS , 6’0”, (’21 Ranked No. 22) – Frank, verbally committed to play at Baker University, had a strong net-frontpresence all night. She finished with 15 kills and four blocks.
MH, Kate Frakes, 6’2”, (’22 Ranked No. 8) – Frakes played like a potential DI recruit and Top 10 player for the Broncos. The explosive junior had seven kills and 5 blocks in the win over the Jaguars.
JV Standout
Junior, Molly Langford, 6’0”, – Langford had five kills in Spring Hill’s junior varsity win. Langford starts junior varsity, mostly because she is blocked by Frank on the varsity. She is athletic and deserving of junior college looks.
Freshman Futures
Freshman, Shannon Frakes, 5’11”, – Frakes start on the junior varsity and can already jump out of the gym. She finished with 11 kills in the JV win. Keep an eye on this freshman as her future is bright.
