Everywhere I turned, athletes were working hard and impressing not just the coaches who were in the gym, but the many who were watching virtually.
Here are some lefties who impressed in the classes of 2023 and 2024.
Kyleigh Coghlan Kyleigh Coghlan 5'6" | DS/L Kettle Moraine | 2023 State WI – Class of 2023 – DS/L – Kettle Moraine
Kyleigh is a great all-around athlete who excels in the back row. Despite being a very talented libero, she has a great swing as well. I saw Kyleigh swinging mostly back row, but she did have the opportunity to swing front row in some of the competitive warm-up games. No matter where she was on the court, she was aggressive, consistent, and a very smart player.
Anna Kudick – Class of 2023 – Right Side – Mauston High School
Anna is really solid on the right side. She is dependable and will make a smart play. She has a nice swing and places the ball well on offense. She also puts up a solid block.
Ava Schubert Ava Schubert 6'1" | RS Assumption | 2023 State #153 Nation IA – Class of 2023 – Right Side – Davenport Assumption
Ava is a big power player. She has a fast swing that puts some nasty speed behind her hits. She is also a smart player who moves around the block well on offense and puts up a great block herself on defense.
Kendall Revolinski – Class of 2024 – Right Side/Setter – Pewaukee
Kendall is an incoming freshman with a lot of potential. She has a great connection on her hits on the right side and utilizes a deep cross-court shot well. Kendall is also a solid setter who is a double threat in all six rotations.
Veronica Tollakson – Class of 2024 – Right Side – New Glarus
Veronica is a gritty player who isn’t afraid to chase after a ball in an out of system play or pick up a block touch on defense. She also has a nasty swing and places the ball very well. Her power has continued to develop in the last few months and she will be a force to be reckoned with as she continues her high school and club careers.
These lefties will be making a statement this fall and will be fun to watch as they develop in the coming high school and club seasons. Keep an eye out for them!
