#1: Chloe Chicoine Chloe Chicoine 5'9" | OH McCutcheon | 2023 State #1 Nation IN , 5-9, OH, McCutcheon
This Circle City-trained kid just recently made the U.S. Youth National Team training roster, and is the lone representative from any national pipeline team from the state of Indiana. A can’t-miss prospect, she already has 89 kills in three matches of play, while hitting nearly .500 in the process. And these stats aren’t against slouches; McCutcheon has made a commitment to play tougher competition, with two of their three matches against top 15 programs. Three straight double-doubles, and their schedule gets EASIER? Be afraid, opponents. Be very afraid.
#2: Quinci Thomas Quinci Thomas 6'3" | OH Brownsburg | 2023 State #138 Nation IN , 6-3, OH, Brownsburg
Another Circle City kid, Quinci is now playing all six rotations as an outside hitter with aspirations on being a better all-around player. Her double-double against perennially ranked Cathedral opened my eyes about her ceiling, as Cathedral had no true answer to her. Miss Thomas is jumping over ten feet and is averaging five kills per set while hitting almost .400. Another can’t-miss prospect, but different from Chloe listed above, watching Quinci’s development will be fun this fall.
#7: Faith Burch Faith Burch 5'10" | RS Roncalli | 2023 State IN , 5-10, RS, Roncalli
It appears that Faith is running a 6-2 this fall with fellow sophomore Monica Jones Monica Jones 5'8" | S Roncalli | 2023 State IN in the early part of this season. This is a part of Miss Burch’s game I was unfamiliar with, as I’ve only seen her thump from the right side as a club player. As far as I’m concerned, that just adds to her marketability to play at the next level. Stay tuned.
#11: Chloe Cook Chloe Cook 5'9" | OH Wapahani | 2023 State IN , 5-9, OH, Wapahani
The only Munciana kid on this list, Chloe can also double as a future libero, not uncommon for kids from the Muncie area. We only have a limited amount of information on Miss Cook, but from what I’ve seen, she’s still a standard six-rotation kid with the ability to take over matches as the second outside hitter on a ball control team.
#14: Avery Hobson Avery Hobson 6'1" | OH Hamilton Southeastern | 2023 State IN , 5-11, OH, Hamilton Southeastern
The state runner-up has a gem in Miss Hobson, the only Academy kid among these five. Although she does not play in the back row in high school, she doesn’t really need to with all of the high-level passing talent on this top five squad. That being said, Avery is full capable of being a six rotation stud, and, with time, will have enough touches to do so. The Royals have a well-balanced offense, and Avery is among three of the top four attackers for HSE that are underclassmen.
