The Three Stars of the Day
MH, Abby Rose Abby Rose 6'0" | MB Smoky Valley | 2022 State KS , 6’0” (’22 Ranked No. 24) – Rose entered the Prep Dig Kansas player rankings for the Class of 2022 ranked number 24. It won’t take her long to move up if she plays all season as she did in the Vikings opening matches. She finished the day with 21 kills and 13 digs. She plays all over the court and is extremely athletic. She looks to be a solid DII recruit, but she has two more seasons to improve her game even more.
OH, Bri Franklin, 5’11”– The senior was overlooked in the initial Class of 2021 rankings, but she played an unmissable role in the first two matched for Smoky Valley. She might be the physically strongest athlete in Kansas. She for sure was between the three teams playing in Lindsborg. She finished with a total of 17 kills and nine blocks. She has a big reach and plays taller than 5’11”. Junior College recruiters should not pass up a chance to watch her play.
OH, Addie Heitschmidt, 5’8” – Heitschmidt has verbally committed to play at McPherson College. She can play front row and back row and should be a solid addition to in in-state NAIA program. She had eight kills and 16 digs against the CKL rivals.
Smoky Valley started the day with a tough three-set loss to Hillsboro 21-25, 25-18, 26-28. The Vikings finished their day with a sweep of the Swathers 25-15, 25-14.
Scouts and recruiters should also keep an eye on junior Madi Tolle. The 5’10” MB finished with seven blocks and six kills.
