The race to secure a collegiate volleyball scholarship is one that’s been entered b y many 17U players, but will be finished by far fewer.

While athletes such as Livvy SetlaLivvySetla5'5" | LNorthville | 2021StateMI and Kiyah FranklinKiyahFranklin5'11" | OHRomeo | 2021StateMI of Legacy Volleyball Center (VBC) 17-2 ADIDAS in Rochester may have entered into agreements with the University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV) and Youngstown State University, respectively, to continue their educations, others are still trying to make a similar move. Even though that’s not something any individual is entitled to, it is a goal many are hoping to reach.

Here in Michigan on the club volleyball scene when it comes to the 17U players still looking to lock down a ride to the next level of competition, that includes…

 

CALLIE SMITH

Standing in at just over six-feet, this part of the class of 2021 at Pewamo Westphalia currently plays for Attack VBC 17U National-Black in Okemos. On the court Smith has an Approach Jump of nine-foot-six, a Vertical Touch of nine-foot-three and a Block Jump of nine-foot-one. The fact she also has a Standing Reach of almost seven-foot-four, a 68-inch Wingspan and a 23.5-inch Vertical doesn’t hurt, either.
