The Three Stars of the Game
S, Ainsley Corwine Ainsley Corwine 5'6" | S West Franklin | 2021 State KS , 5’6”, (’21 Ranked No. 46) – There is nothing flashy about Corwine’s game. She is a lunch pale setter that controls the flow of the game. She has talented hitters to distribute the ball to as three Falcons had eight or more kills in the two-set road victory. Corwine has received NAIA and JUCO offers, but as yet to verbally commit to a program.
OH, Jenna Walters Jenna Walters 5'7" | OH West Franklin | 2022 State KS , 5’6”, (’22 Ranked No. 44) – Walters does not have the typical volleyball frame, but she is the best jumper and hardest hitter on the West Franklin team. The junior is a dual-threat player. Walters had nine kills and eight digs in the win. Like Corwine, she is projects to get offers from NAIA and JUCO programs.
MH, Alex Coopman , 6’1”– Coopman does have the stereotypical volleyball frame. She has a huge wingspan and is a physical presence in the middle of the net. She led the Falcons with four blocks and nine kills against the Vikings. She needs to improve her upper body strength and her overall timing. However, college recruiters should give her a look because she has some raw talent.

Arguably the most talented player on the West Franklin squad is sophomore Nellie LaFountain. The 5’7” outside hitter is another dual-threat player who does not have to be subbed for. She finished with 13 digs and eight kills. She still has three high school seasons left, but DI and DII schools should start paying attention as LaFountain’s future is bright. Prep Dig Kansas has yet to rank the class of 2023, but LaFountain is an early favorite to crack the Top 20.
