In this series, we’ll dissect each of the state’s six divisions by analyzing the top teams and the most promising players and what we can expect from them when the balls are finally allowed to fly. In the third week of our series, we present Class 2A.
Ellensburg
Ellensburg wasn’t too far removed from its first State Championship title in the last two seasons as the Bulldogs were third in 2018 and second in 2019. Despite of having a senior-heavy roster last year, the Bulldogs will have the luxury of bringing back two of their three All-State team selections in star outside hitters Abby Harrell and Reagan Naboychik, preserving an important part of their core intact.
Their three key players are:
Abby Harrell – Outside Hitter – Sophomore
Abby Harrell accomplished the rare feat of being an All-State first-team selection in her first year of high school volleyball. The 5’9” outside hitter was an integral part of Ellensburg’s successful campaign in 2019 as she impacted virtually every aspect of the Bulldogs’ game. The prospect was equally important on offense, where she had 277 kills, and defense, with 224 digs, but also added 49 blocks and 28 aces to her name.
Reagan Naboychik – Outside Hitter – Junior
Reagan Naboychik was Ellensburg’s most lethal offensive weapon last season as she led the Bulldogs in kills with 282. The 5’8” outside hitter also contributed in other departments adding 32 blocks and 31 digs and seems poised to give another step forward next season, where her all-around contributions will be much needed by the team.

Alice Bennett Alice Bennett 6'2" | MB Ellensberg | 2021 State WA will form an effective offensive tripod with Harrell and Naboychik next season. The 6’2” middle-blocker was quite effective on her junior season with 105 kills, but is likely to see these numbers improve in her last year of high school volleyball. Bennett also left her mark in other areas of the Bulldogs’ game as she registered 75 blocks and 36 digs as well. She’s currently at the 42nd spot at prepdig.com’s class of 2021 ranking.
