These athletes’ stats from the 2019 – 2020 season have set them up for an impressive season to come.
Riley O’Hagan Riley O’Hagan 5'10" | S Morris Catholic | 2021 State NJ , S/RS, Morris Catholic, Class of 2021
This setting, serving, and passing beast made quite the name for herself on the court last season. She primarily led her squad as a setter but served as a strong right side/opposite when the need presented itself. Though not the most successful season for Morris Catholic, O’Hagan still managed to rack up some impressive stats: 429 assists, 293 digs, 160 service points, 41 aces, 83 kills, and 22 blocks! This is someone you need on your watchlist for the upcoming season.
Quinn Longo, S/OH, Roxbury, Class of 2021
This athlete served her team primarily as a setter last season, but it was the culmination of her contributions across the board that helped Roxbury be as successful as they were. Most notably, she topped the conference in assists, clocking in at 481 total. Behind the service line, she racked up 45 aces and a total of 150 service points. To top it all off, she had 152 digs. Quinn Longo commands a strong presence on the court that can’t be ignored!
Meaghan Lawrence, S, Pope John, Class of 2021
Lawrence first draws attention with her impressive assist total: 468 for just the 2019 season alone. Aside from her prowess leading the offense, she dominated from behind the service line with 63 aces. After proving her defensive skills with 130 digs, we can truly classify Meaghan Lawrence as a triple threat.
Amber Chen Amber Chen 5'5" | DS/L Roxbury | 2021 State NJ , OH, Roxbury, Class of 2021
Outside hitter Amber Chen Amber Chen 5'5" | DS/L Roxbury | 2021 State NJ has a formidable presence all over the court. With 231 kills in the 2019 season as an outside, we might not be immediately impressed, but add in her 216 digs and 147 service points, then you start to see Chen for the force she truly is. Not only is she a dependable player in any rotation, but she also has a team-first mentality that I, as a coach, can genuinely appreciate. Chen would be a great addition to any college lineup.
Mackenzie Wiggins Mackenzie Wiggins 5'11" | OH Sparta | 2021 State NJ , OH, Sparta, Class of 2021
This likely isn’t the first you’ve heard of Mackenzie Wiggins Mackenzie Wiggins 5'11" | OH Sparta | 2021 State NJ , and it certainly won’t be the last. Entering into her senior season, this powerhouse brings a powerful presence to any gym that just can’t be missed. She racked up an impressive 403 kills last season, following shortly behind with 257 digs and 66 aces. Even without a libero jersey, she still manages to chase down impossible balls and make incredible plays from behind the ten-foot line. Front row or back row, Wiggins is someone any team could use.
