Even with a club season cut short and potentially even a reduced summer schedule, some class of 2024 athletes have been actively playing with the varsity athletes from their schools. Not only have they been playing, but they have also been having a huge impact on the court. Here are a few Class of 2024 athletes who impressed a the Sunset Slam!
Brylee Leverenz Brylee Leverenz 5'10" | S Waukesha West | 2024 State WI – Waukesha West
Brylee has been setting for Waukesha West for most of the summer. Interestingly enough, she wasn’t actually a trained setter coming into her high school open gyms! However, West had a need for setters and Brylee was able to fill that role. She is extremely athletic and has a great volleyball IQ.
Ella Skogman Ella Skogman 6'2" | MB Waukesha West | 2024 State WI – Waukesha West
Waukesha West has another up and coming freshman – Ella Skogman Ella Skogman 6'2" | MB Waukesha West | 2024 State WI . She is a 6’1” middle hitter with a lot of potential. Ella excels at blocking and places the ball well on offense. She has great energy on the court and has good chemistry with the other athletes on the team.
Jae Fitting Jae Fitting 5'8" | DS/L Cedarburg | 2024 State WI – Cedarburg
Jae is an awesome libero/defensive specialist who is fast and reads the ball well. She plays well out of both middle and left-back and makes some great plays. Jae’s consistency on serve receive makes her very competitive among her peers. She is definitely an athlete to watch going into the upcoming seasons.
Ella Demetrian – Appleton North
Ella is a powerhouse of an athlete. She is nearly unstoppable on the pin and is a great 6-rotation outside hitter. Ella will definitely develop to be one of the top athletes in her class. She places the ball well, has an insane amount of power, and is also impressive in the back row and serving.
Despite an interesting club season and summer for these incoming freshmen, they looked great at the Sunset Slam. All of them saw the court a lot and had a positive impact on their teams. It will be great to watch them develop over the next few years.
