The upstart Titans pulled away to defeat Sayre 3-1 in the 11th Region All “A” Classic title match at Lexington Christian Academy on Saturday, Sept. 12.
Prior to defeating Sayre, Trinity Christian Academy beat Lexington Christian Academy and Berea in the 11th Region All “A” Classic. Currently, Trinity Christian is 4-0. Trinity Christian has lost only one set through its first four matches in the 2020 high school volleyball season.
The Titans recorded shutout wins over Lexington Christian and Berea. Trinity Christian blanked Harrison County 3-0 in a season opener on the road in Cynthiana on Wednesday, Sept. 9.
Several players have contributed for John Hobson-coached Trinity Christian thus far in the 2020 high school volleyball season. Leaders for Trinity Christian include Emma Gray (50 kills, 16 blocks, 38 digs, 3 assists, 3 service aces), Lucy Gray (101 assists, 29 digs, 2 kills, 9 blocks, 5 service aces), Mallory Sacra (79 digs 8 service aces, 5 assists), Megan Walden (25 kills, 7 blocks, 5 digs, 4 service aces), Sara Gray (30 digs, 7 kills, 9 blocks, 2 service aces) and Lyndsay Tanaka (14 kills, 5 blocks, 2 digs, 1 service ace).
Senior Emma Gray plays six positions for the Titans.
The remainder of Trinity Christian Academy’s schedule features matches versus East Jessamine, Lexington Catholic, Madison Southern, Model, Great Crossing and Lexington Catholic.
