Here are three 2nd Region eighth graders to watch.
Olivia Oakley: An eighth grade outside hitter/right side hitter for University Heights Academy, Oakley is a young standout. In six matches for University Heights Academy, Oakley has recorded 27 kills, 40 digs and 15 service aces. Versatile, Oakley is a strong hitter from both sides. Agile and athletic, Oakley thrives in both the front row and the back row.
Carly Porter: An eighth grade middle hitter for Crittenden County, Porter is chipping in prior to her freshman season. Porter has appeared in five of Crittenden County’s first 10 matches in the 2020 high school volleyball season. The eighth grade middle hitter has recorded 17 kills and three blocks for the Rockets. Porter reads opposing hitters well and has produced regularly as a blocker.
Rylee Springer: An eighth grade setter for reigning 2nd Region champion Henderson County, Springer continues to deliver in her young prep volleyball career. Springer has registered 20 assists and 10 digs in only eight sets thus far in the 2020 high school volleyball season. An accurate passer and vocal leader, Springer has shown the ability to run the offense.
