The 2nd Region features several talented young players, some of whom have excelled in the first half of the 2020 high school volleyball season.

Here are three 2nd Region eighth graders to watch.

Olivia Oakley: An eighth grade outside hitter/right side hitter for University Heights Academy, Oakley is a young standout. In six matches  for University Heights Academy, Oakley has recorded 27 kills, 40 digs and 15 service aces. Versatile, Oakley is a strong hitter from both sides. Agile and athletic, Oakley thrives in both the front row and the back row.

Carly Porter: An eighth grade middle hitter for Crittenden County, Porter is chipping in prior to her freshman season. Porter has appeared in five of Crittenden County's first 10 matches in the 2020 high school volleyball season. The eighth grade middle hitter has recorded 17 kills and three blocks for the Rockets. Porter reads opposing hitters well and has produced regularly as a blocker.
