Eventual 11th Region champion Henry Clay eliminated Madison Southern from the high school volleyball postseason in 2019.
Here are three Madison Southern defensive specialists to watch.
Breanna Dawes: A sophomore, Dawes appeared in over half of Madison Southern’s matches during the 2019 high school volleyball season. One of Madison Southern’s talented underclassmen, Dawes registered 29 digs in 21 sets for the Eagles as a freshman in 2019. Poised to contribute more for Madison Central as a sophomore, Dawes has shown some versatility early in her prep career.
Autumn Griffith: A senior, Griffith was among the leaders for Madison Southern throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season. Leading Madison Southern in a key category during her junior campaign, Griffith recorded a team-high 383 digs as well as 59 service aces. A back row standout, Griffith digs and pursues well.
Ally Skidmore: A junior, Skidmore is expected to take on a larger role for Madison Southern during the upcoming high school volleyball season. In 2019, Skidmore posted 39 digs in only 11 matches. Skidmore has shown the ability to contribute consistently from both the back row and the front row.
