The Three Stars of the Game
S, Lindsey Winkelman Lindsey Winkelman 5'7" | S Chase | 2021 KS , 5’2”, (’21 Ranked No. 150)– Winkelman is a leader on the court and in the classroom. The Kats offense runs through her. She finished with 23 assists. Winkelman is a no-doubt solid JUCO recruit, and could be a fringe NAIA prospect. She has a 4.0 GPA and is interested in a school with a nursing program. In-state college recruits will find it worth their time to watch one of her matches.
DS, Skylar Harrington, 5’2”,– Harrington a defensive specialist had two solid matches. She had 17 digs and 5 kills in the 12-25, 25-23, 17-25, three-set loss to Lincoln. Against Lakeside, Harrington had nine digs and two kills.
OH, Tori Dooling , 5’5”– Dooling, a senior for the Kats, is a two-way player. She finished the two matches with 30 digs and 4 kills. She is would be best suited to play as a defensive specialist after high school. Dooling had six kills in the 19-25, 16-25 loss to Lakeside.
Freshman Futures
One freshman to keep an eye on is Abbey Blackburn. The 5’8” Blackburn starts Varsity and played the entirety of both matches. She totaled 24 digs in the two losses. She is tall enough to become a hitter, but already has the skills to be a defensive specialist. Her confidence will increase as her skills improve and she gains more experience.
