However, we are at this point; Win or Go Home! Let’s take a look at two districts and do our best to predict who will move on in each round and become district champions. The winner of these two districts will face off in sectional play this weekend.
District 13: (1) Pleasant Hill (2) El Dorado Springs (3) Clinton (4) Holden (5) Knob Noster – October 26-28th @ Clinton
This is one of the most intriguing districts around the state. Pleasant Hill (19-7) has enjoyed success in the postseason recently. They have a strong nucleus with key plays at every position. El Dorado Springs (27-2) will be the number 2 seed and like Pleasant Hill, has weapons on their side of the net. Both Gurley and Schaaf also enjoy over 400 assists. The host team Clinton (11-7-1) will be the third seed. Holden (10-4-1) and Knob Noster (13-7) round out the bracket.
We will take Holden in the 4-5 match with Pleasant Hill defeating the winner. El Dorado Springs will advance over Clinton. The championship match will be a dogfight. Both teams can advance and move on to win a sectional title. We will take Pleasant Hill in a close one. The scheduled they put together this season against larger schools we fell positioned themselves to not only win districts but a sectionals and possibly earn a state title.
District 15: (1) Notre Dame De Sion (2) Northland Christian (3) Northeast (4) Central (5) Southeast – October 27-29th @ Notre Dame
We don’t know much about the 3-5 seeds. We do know Northland Christan had a strong run three to four year run a few seasons ago. Notre Dame as a few talented young players. We do know they will face off in the championship. We will roll with the top seed and host Storm to take happy pictures with the hardware.
