The Mavericks season did not end the way they wanted, however, Maize South has a talented young corps of players and will be a team to continue to watch in the near future.

Here is a scouting report from the 5A State Tournament play as two Maverick Seniors will look to continue their playing careers after graduation.

S, Laurel JonesLaurelJones6'1" | SMaize South | 2021StateKS, 6’1”, (Ranked No. 4) –The Maize South senior has verbally committed to play at Marquette University. Jones a tall player with quick hands and an eye for holes in opponent’s defensive set-ups. Jones entered the state tournament with 493 assists, 231 kills, and 48 aces. She did not have her best game of the season during the state tournament, but she showed she can play with the elite teams.

L, Riley KennedyRileyKennedy5'4" | LMaize South | 2021StateKS, 5’4”, (Ranked No. 48) – Kennedy led Maize South in digs in 2020 with 240. Kennedy is committed to play volleyball as well as softball at Neosho County Community College. She will be a solid addition on the court and ball field for the Panthers.

MH, Avery Lowe, 6’1”,– Lowe is just a sophomore, but she will be a highly recruited member of the
