Here is a scouting report on the college caliber talent that on the Olathe Northwest Roster.
OH, Courtney Beers Courtney Beers 5'8" | OH Olathe Northwest | 2021 State KS , 5’8” (’21 Ranked No. 41) – Beers has a huge reach and is a smart player. She is committed to playing at Kansas Wesleyan University after graduation. Beers is just an all-around player. She did not lead the Ravens in any of the major stats, but the team leaned on her during crucial moments.
S, Courtney Jackson Courtney Jackson 5'9" | S Olathe Northwest | 2021 State KS , 5’9” (’21 Ranked No. 7) – Jackson has committed to play for the University of Arkansas and the Razorbacks will be getting a solid talent. She has quick hands and really understands how to run an offense. Jackson had 660 assists to rank among the leaders in Class 6A.
OH, Skyler Pierce, 6’1” – Now here is a freshman with a future so bright she has to wear sunglasses at night. She is quick, tall, and athletic. Pierce had eight kills in the title game. She led the Ravens in 2020 with 289 kills. She also had 38 aces. She played well in the state tournament and it is clear she can compete at the collegiate level. She is a very similar talent to Seaman’s Camryn Turner Camryn Turner 5'7" | S Seaman | 2021 State KS who is committed to playing at Kansas University. Pierce might jump higher than Turner, but does not hit the ball quite as hard. Yet.
Olathe West has multiple freshman players to watch the next three seasons. Jillian Huckabey and Julia Headley have the skills to keep Olathe Northwest in the State playoff picture until they graduate in 2024. At 5’11” and 6’2” respectively the two freshmen should be featured in Prep Dig Kansas Tall Timber features multiple times during their high school careers.
