A look at three 3rd Region freshmen to watch follows.
Georgia Howard: Among the top performers for Whitesville Trinity, Howard is a versatile player. In 19 matches for 12th District runner-up Whitesville Trinity, Howard has recorded 106 kills, 169 digs and 31 service aces. A hard-working student-athlete with a diverse skill set, Howard can contribute from multiple positions for her team.
Chase Mather: A freshman outside hitter for Owensboro, Mather was a consistent contributor for the Red Devils throughout the 2020 high school volleyball season. Mather appeared in 12 of Owensboro’s 14 matches during the 2020 high school volleyball season, registering 43 kills, 14 assists, 90 digs and 8 service aces. A strong hitter, Mather has shown the ability to make challenging digs regularly.
Kennedy Murphy: A freshman setter for Owensboro Catholic, Murphy is developing into a vocal leader. Murphy has appeared in 17 of 18 matches for 9th District runner-up Owensboro Catholic in the 2020 high school volleyball season. The Owensboro Catholic freshman has recorded 298 assists, 53 digs and 16 service aces. Murphy is an accurate passer who covers the court well.
