The Blue Valley West Jaguars won the Class 6A state championship by knocking off Olathe Northwest in the state tournament played on October 30.  

With COVID protocols in place, KSHSAA decreased the field at state tournaments from eight teams to four. It had a much different feel than past State Volleyball Tournaments in Kansas, but it was still a big stage with tightly contested matches.

Having covered the 6A State Tournament I have put together an All-State team. Players from the four quarterfinal teams that did not earn a trip to Salina are eligible for honorable mention positions.

OH, Taylor Stockman, 5’11”, Blue Valley West –Stockman, a junior, had 11 kills in the championship victory. Stockman went “Beast Mode” in the semifinal victory over Garden City with double-digit kills. She had 228 kills entering the Class 6A State Tournament. She will be a high-profile recruit from the Class of 2022.

OH, Skyler Pierce, 6’1”, Olathe Northwest –Pierce had eight kills in the title game against Blue Valley West. She led the Ravens in 2020 with 289 kills. She also had 38 aces. She played well in the state tournament and it is clear she can compete at the collegiate
