Maddie Snider Maddie Snider 6'4" | RS Bishop McLaughlin | 2023 State #99 Nation FL is not only one of the best players on Bishop’s varsity team, but also ranked at the #2 spot for all Sophomores in Florida. She is an amazing player that dominates the net at a high-level of performance. Her ability to find the ball and slam it down on the opposite court is arguably unmatched in her age group. Between her height, left-handed swing, and her ball control she is one of the best right-side hitters in the area. In her last two seasons on Bishop’s Varsity team, Maddie has played in 149 sets with almost 540 kills, 81 total blocks, and 208 digs. Her career hitting percentage is .320 with an average of 3.6 kills per set.
Alice Stryker – 5’10” – MH, OH – Sunlake High School
Alice Styker just joined Sunlake’s Varsity team this year as a Sophomore, but she is already making waves and impressing coaches. She played in 40 sets this season and scored 48 kills with 35 total blocks. While Alice is not one of the starting middle hitters/blockers for Sunlake’s team, she is an incredibly talented player that when given the opportunity in the coming years will prove to be one of the top-performing middles in the county. Her athleticism and smartness on the court are already proving to be high-level considering her age and the talent around her.
Erika Spankus – 5’11” – OH, MB – Tarpon Springs High School
Erika Spankus is an incredibly smart hitter that has scored 94 kills in only 22 sets so far this season. She has powerful swings from either pin, but her cross-court hit from the left side is her most accurate and successful attack. During the match, she adjusts her technique to her opponent. If she is blocked on a big swing, she adjusts to tips and roll shots, and then when the opponent is on their toes, she swings hard again. Additionally, she continues to prove herself as a well-rounded player by consistently shutting down tough opponents with her own blocks and plays around the court to pick up some aces and digs in the back row.
