First we broke the players down by division and then we switched gears to analyze who are expected to be the most outstanding athletes in the top teams of each of those divisions.
For the next several weeks, we’ll dive even deeper, taking a closer look at each of the 46 district leagues in the state of Washington and pointing out the players we believe will be worth your attention in the near future.
The Sea-Tac District is expected to be one of the most exciting in the state as it places together 13 high schools from the 1B and 2B classes and their three best players are:
Heloisa Sarli – Outside Hitter – Senior – Pudget Sound Adventist
Pudget Sound Adventist might have lost some key pieces from the team that dominated the district in 2019 with nine wins in as many matches, but outside hitter Heloisa Sarli will be back for her last year of high school volleyball with Sharks. The 5’6” prospect used her well-placed shots and her offensive versatility to be the team’s second-best scorer with 121 kills and also impacted the game in several other ways with 33 aces, 167 digs and 164 passes.
Ella-Leigh Anderson – Outside Hitter – Sophomore – Crosspoint
Ella Leigh-Anderson made a great impact in Crosspoint’s game in her second season of high school volleyball – she played as a ninth-grader in 2018. The 5’5” outside hitter was the team’s most effective offensive option, registering a 33.4% kill percentage to lead the Warriors in kills with 127, but that doesn’t tell the entire history. Anderson was phenomenal from the service line, registering impressive 106 aces, and equally impressive with her backcourt efforts, which generated 345 digs and 192 to her side.
Allison Nichols – Setter – Senior – Pope John Paul II
Allison Nichols’ dominant performances were one of the reasons why Pope John Paul II ended last season with a positive 5-4 win record in the district. The 5’8” setter got the job done while setting her teammates up at the net, but also took responsibility in helping the Eagles scoring points. Nichols offered a strong contribution from the service line securing 52 aces along the season, but also added 18 kills to her name.
