With a lot of attention on this team’s terrific outside and middle tandem, Gaerke has provided a solid third offensive option that is necessary for teams to have a deep playoff run. She shows good aggressiveness throughout her approach patterns and can create a contact point that can challenge a block or find space well. Her ability to score in all locations between the pins increases her options and opportunities. Defensively, she is averaging just shy of 10 digs per match. The #4 ranked team takes on Calvert in what should be a terrific match.
Diana Heitkamp – L | 2021 | New Bremen
Heitkamp is the stabilizer for the third-ranked Cardinals. She is this team’s best defender averaging over 12 digs per match. She also leads the team in total service aces and is a primary passer that gets their offense in system often. She has good preparation in her base with good balance. She sees the ball well and makes good moves to pursue contact with quickness and good first-step reaction. New Bremen takes on Tri-Vilage next.
Hannah Lyons – S | 2022 | Monroeville
With nearly 900 assists for the season and a 10+ assist per set average, Lyons makes this offense go. As a squad, the Eagles are hitting at a .302 percentage and have seen five attackers eclipse 150 total kills on the season. The balance is a result of Lyons’ decision-making and attention to getting a lot of hitters involved and is a big reason why Monroville, ranked #6, is in this position.
